Okay, I've been waiting for the perfect moment to share my all time favorite story... and after gary's post, I think that moment is now. It's all about putting one's foot in one's mouth.

I had taken the girls to the mall one day... yes, all FOUR of them... and I was browsing at a make up couner. The woman working there was talking to the girls and telling them how sweet they are and blah blah blah. Then she turns to me and says,"OH my gosh! These kids are absolutely gorgeous! They must look like their dad, huh?":lookaroun  I must've had "a look" on my face that made her realize what she'd said... because all of the sudden she started tripping all over herself saying "well, you're pretty and all, too... it's just that they're blonde, you know."

your hubby must be a pretty blonde

(Did you, in turn, shove her nose in the "foundation" and scribble all over her face with "Sunset Glisten" lipstick?)

*calls tech support*

Hello, thank you for calling Sony technical support...please hold while the next available technician can be reached...

*cheesy elevator music*

(20 minutes go by...the music is beginning to loop)

Hello, sorry for the wait. Before we get into your problem I am going to need some information from you in order to log this into your account.

(Give name, number, address, social security number, computer serial number, date of purchase, and mother's maiden name)

Ok, now explain the problem.

Well...yadda yadda yadda...

That wouldn't be my department, I'm going to have to redirect this call to someone in our IT department. Please hold and thank you for choosing Sony.

*cheesy music begins to play...yet again*

(25 minutes go by)

Hello, and sorry for the inconvenience...how may I help you?

(you start to explain...but get interrupted)

Ok, well, before we begin, I'm going to need to get some information from you so that I can file this into your account.

(ditto the information that needed to be given before...just add your pets name to the list)

Ok, how may I help you?

Well, this is what happens...yadda yadda yadda...

Well, try rebooting...that should work. Thank you for choosing Sony.

 How true that is!!... It could always be like Dell...

"hi thanks for choosing dell how may i help you?"

"well... my computer is...."

*type type type click click click*

"Oh... uh huh... hmmm.... It appears that you have not purchased a service plan for Tuesday afternoons, would you like to do so for one small payment of $49.95???"

"Uh... no... I'll solve the problem myself!"

How true  The problem with Sony support here in the UK is that there isn't a phone number tech support, just a crappy E-Support portal. This means that any problems aren't sorted instantly but in a ping-pong message system :fork: :fork:

And then this happens:

"
Dear Customer,

Due to some maintainance procedures, the e-Support website is not available from 19:20 until 22:00.
Please try again later.

Regards,
The VAIO-Link Support Team

"

I have also found just talking really slowly and very loudly ... perhaps even with an accent of the language the person is speaking in while waving your hands about like a crazy person can help too lol
(if that made any sence...)
