Ok ok ok...most of you know that I'm a U2 nut...and for those of you who weren't lucky enough to catch the POPMART tour...I'm gonna post a few pics of the stage set...We're talking HUGE!
The "theme" of "POPMART" was a store (similar to K-mart) that sells Pop culture items.
The yellow arch was taken from "McDonald's" and sets up the giant "basket" that hid speakers. The screen behind the stage is the largest video screen to ever be in a concert (and considering it completely filled the distance (side to side) of a football stadium...you can tell it's pretty big )
The giant toothpick with an olive on the end extended 100ft in the air. And...the chrome "DiscoLemon" is about 30ft in diameter. (The Lemon started out yellow...and "peeled" for their encore of Discotheque). After the "peeling" it rotated and moved into the center of the stage where it "hatched U2"
