Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

I wasn't counting Energy, because, well, you can't ride it right now - was thinking more what would be in each park when SWL opens. Land also has two, really when you think about it... But looking at the lists that @MisterPenguin put up, Epcot will have a decent # of attractions by 2021. That leaves DHS and AK, which are neck and neck by 2019, but I'd argue that there's a *lot* more to do in AK that isn't rides than in DHS and a lot more room to spread out. AK still needs help, but DHS needs more. My original point was that ride count wasn't going to be too far from what the other parks have once SWL opens.

I think DHS would not be in such a bad place if they would just update their shows. Giving us something new at Mermaid, Indy, and B&B would round out the park nicely I think. Yes, another ride or two (esp family rides all can ride) would be great but with three new shows I would argue that is easily a full day park (once you add eating, night shows, and of course shopping).

Shortly before Backlot closed I did an "Ultimate" at DHS (a) to have done it and (b) to actually test the full vs. half day argument. I did all of the rides (with a couple of repeats) and saw all of the shows (except Disney JR - just.no.) Starting with an EMH RD, including a TS lunch, it took me until about 6:00 PM to do it all. I hung out at Tune-In for about 90 minutes waiting for it to get dark as I wanted to do some PM photography and left just prior to the 8:00 Fantasmic (had I wanted to see that show, most of my "down" time would have been lost to queuing and waiting for the show to start. So my answer then was, that for a family who hadn't been as many times as I had been, to do all that the park had to offer, it was definitely a "full day" park. Since then we've lost Backlot, LMA, Animation Academy, and GMR and gained Hanger Bay and a couple of SW shows. If you factor in a dinner at a "normal" time and/or the dessert party (on that day I had a late dinner at Cat Cora's at the BW), I would still argue that to "do it all" it will take a full day - especially if a family with kids want to take a mid-day break. Once the 5 new rides are up an running it will definitely be a full day park.

Guess we're in the minority. DHS has always been a half day park for us. We are not into the theater shows.
Not necessarily the minority, just a different way to tour the parks. Unless it's MK, a case could be made that all the parks are half day if one only hits the headliners. We try to do nearly everything in each park, sometimes we split them up to where we only spend a half day in two or more parks, but there is no right or wrong answer to if a park is a full day or half day park. Like a beach, some people take longer to enjoy the same location.

Far from it. In it's current configuration it's a "half day" park for me; I just can't do the shows any more - except Indy; it still entertains me once every couple of years. And F! is NOT enough motivation to hang around extra hours. I haven't had a chance to catch the "new" SW PM show yet, so I guess I'll stay around to see that. My next trip will be sometime between the opening of TSL and SWGE so I'll probably "plan" a full day - but will very likely leave before dinner...

Because it's personally a half day for you, doesn't make it a 'half day park' if someone who doesn't go as often can spend the entire day in the park. There's a lot of attractions and rides and shows I don't do or see, I could call all the parks half day ;)

But, and it should go without saying at this point, all the parks need more things to do. They should all be two day parks, at minimum, at this point. And in terms of pure rides, DHS is lacking, of course. No arguments there. And the shows are beyond dated, even if they're decent shows. It's long past time. LONG PAST TIME! lol

For us, DHS is a 1/2 day park, three or four times over a 10-day period. Seldom do I want to stay at ANY park all day.

We don’t watch a lot of the shows, but spend quite a bit of time at Launch Bay. I do the Frozen Sing-along, Hubby visits the Tune-in Lounge, we ride ToT, RnRC, TSMM, visit the Muppets, watch some Streetmosphere, and have a thoroughly enjoyable 1/2 day. OMD is a must!

Even with all the new stuff coming, I can’t see spending a whole day here. Maybe five or six half days to max out our FPP entitlement.

The exterior was completely roped off today, with 1 or 2 cast members out front.
