Does it crack $200 mil?
Better not!
Does it crack $200 mil?
I wouldn’t know in the least, and I certainly wouldn’t want to spread unwarranted concern. I was just curious since it and ROTR share a type of ride system and are being built at the same time. It makes me wonder if ROTR’s issues are specific due to its interaction with certain specific scenes, and not inherently due to its ride system. File this once again under rampant, rampant curiosity and nothing more.Is a MMRR having issues? (Genuine question)
Is it weird to say that if I had the choice between giving DHS one more E-Ticket or giving it 2 solid D-Tickets and a C-Ticket I'd probably choose the latter? An extra $100m could have completely redid GMR and built MMRR elsewhere. Pennies compared to what they’ll spend to add yet another E-ticket when they inevitably determine the park needs more.
Common sense should tell us that. No research and development, no drawing a forest of new designs and intricate blueprints. That part costs a lot of money that is saved by using something that was already designed and committed to paper. Man hours alone I bet would melt our eyeballs.Oh please, let's not go THERE again. The true and total budgets for these attractions are only known by a very small number of people (High-level Finance/Accounting, and Corporation executives). Any other source (besides an executive on-the-record or financial disclosure) is conjecture and rumormongering. Just keep that in mind with any number you see on here...
THAT said, released documents have shown that clones are much cheaper to build than the first version of any attraction. Universal, in particular, has released information that confirms this.
I think RotR's issues are being vastly overstated...I wouldn’t know in the least, and I certainly wouldn’t want to spread unwarranted concern. Ding ding dingI think RotR's issues are being vastly overstated...
Is it DLR that’s having the problems with RotR and wasn’t going to make their deadline and DHS has to follow their lead? If it opens in December at DHS, that would have been their timeline?I think RotR's issues are being vastly overstated...
The impression I've gotten from other threads here is that RotR is on schedule - it's just Disney decided to open early because everything else was ahead of schedule. Is it DLR that’s having the problems with RotR and wasn’t going to make their deadline and DHS has to follow their lead? Okay thanks. Trying to recoup their money ASAPThe impression I've gotten from other threads here is that RotR is on schedule - it's just Disney decided to open early because everything else was ahead of schedule.
(I have no inside info on this btw).
Me tooo! I am more hyped for this attraction than Galaxy's Edge to be completely honest. I have been waiting a long time for a Mickey Mouse themed dark ride and have it be coming to Disneyland is a dream come true! This shows that Disney is very happy with the final product of runaway railway and that makes me extraordinarily excited.
I’ve been meaning to ask this for about a week now — A) do we know whether the contractor for MMRR and/or Rat is the same as the one for ROTR? And B) Is MMRR experiencing any of the same bugs that ROTR is trying to solve on both coasts?
Depending on your settings, of course!
Given the nature of RotR’s Issues, I doubt that they are affecting MMRR.Is a MMRR having issues? (Genuine question)
Indeed.Given the nature of RotR’s Issues, I doubt that they are affecting MMRR.
Given the nature of RotR’s Issues, I doubt that they are affecting MMRR.
So there actually ARE issues? I was under the impression everything was proceeding on schedule and they were simply choosing to open RotR later for other reasons (money, crowds, etc...).Indeed.

It’s more than one friend and sometimes info conflicts for whatever reason. Sometimes they are very clear that “this is for your ears only.” Budgets are often tightly held. But between Everest and Rat, I think, is a good enough ballpark for our discussions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but last I heard, the issues weren't having to do with the lift-system or anything RotR specific. I thought it had to do with the vehicles themselves communicating with the ride system, which seems like an issue that could also effect MMRR. If they both have completely different trackless communication systems though, I would understand the issues not being comparable.Indeed.
Several people.Who even said there was an issue with RotR? Maybe just staggering the opening is to help the crowds rather than there being issues?
There are minor issues (with RotR) but nothing too serious. That’s why they test and adjust, and it has no bearing on the opening date. Unless the issue becomes very serious in the future! So there actually ARE issues? I was under the impression everything was proceeding on schedule and they were simply choosing to open RotR later for other reasons (money, crowds, etc...).
You've asked the million dollar question. I think they could rush it or take their time. More factors than just technical. They may want that second publicity pop closer to the holidays. But I think it will be well before Christmas.
And that the early opening without RotR has more to do with an attempt at crowd control than dealing with RotR vehicle issues.
