Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Nope, we're stuck with this mangled Mickey and his badly drawn friends. Bad decision but I think the attraction will at least be interesting to watch. It better be. They killed off the Great Movie Ride for this garbage.

It definitely has me intrigued and more excited about it than anything else they ve built or announced in the last few years for a couple reasons. It’s Disney/ Mickey (not Star Wars/ Marvel) and even though it’s Mickey it feels like an original attraction in comparison to what’s been built/ greenlit lately. I’m also intrigued because between the tech and concept it seems like something new and fresh. I don’t quite know what to expect. Anyway, I think SWL will be impressive and it will be great to have two new Es at the park. Just can’t get too excited about the Falcon simulator. I’m definitely intrigued by Battle Escape but I have a feeling that it might not evoke the raw emotion that even Hyperspace Mountain does considering it’s a slow moving vehicle. Hopefully the ride system has a few sweet tricks.

I was just online looking up info for this ride. Are there are rumored dates for it going to DHS other than just next year? I'm truly considering making a trip to WDW (haven't been in over a decade) to see this and other stuff. I would love to go next summer if its possible but don't want to go until after it opens,

The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse one is for preschoolers, though, not general audiences. Really, the new Mickey is just so ugly. Goofy's ever worse. I hate looking at the art. The only worse Mickey they could've chosen is the emoji Mickey which they dared to put up on the "it's a small world" mural in Tokyo. Disgusting.
I for one find this mickey design very cute, goofy however...

I usually find the opinions of general park guests irrelevant.
I don't, because their talk helps one to get into the mindset of disney. If one follows what guest opinion is, one can understand fully why disney are making certain decisions.
For example, one would think everyone hates pixar pier, but general guests love it, which means that disney really understood what the guests wanted, which is more ip.

I would wait for it to open first before calling it garbage. I am personally very excited for this ride, I'm more excited about it than most of disney's e-ticket plans. It looks to be the most ambitious. It's been awhile since America parks has had a great dark ride.

I believe fall 2019 is the current target. The WDW thread may have more info.

The other day my son said , "Mom, where is Disney Hollywood Studios at?" I replied, "Florida". And he said, "I really want to go there I was just watching a video about it and they have this really cool ride called The Great Movie ride." o_O

When you break the news to him let him know that your good friend Dr. Reinhardt, who has impeccable taste, says he didn't miss anything. ;)

PSA: This is being discussed in the animation forum, but you all should know: Someone on Youtube has posted the first five episodes of a show Disney has had in the works called "Legend of the Three Caballeros."
It's. Freaking. Fantastic. It just might be the most beautifully-animated tv show Disney's ever done.
It might never be shown or sold in the U.S. You might want to visit Youtube before it gets yanked. Man, I would gladly pay for this show on iTunes.
Even weirder is that Disney never made a announcement about and showed up on the Disney Life App with no fanfare.

Nah. I’m calling garbage until we see it in action. It could be projections on cardboard cut outs for all we know. Disney has to deliver on this one. No excuses.

Right. As a theme park enthusiast I really don’t care about what the lowest common denominator enjoys. People don’t know what they want until you give it to them. But in Disney’s eyes, they don’t have to give us POTC’s if people are getting excited about Incredicoaster.

Exactly. General guests will accept anything Disney plops into their laps. They could build an emoji ride and lines would be hours long.

See above.

You just reiterated why general guests and their opinions are of no concern to me. The guests don’t know what they want until Disney tells them what Disney wants. General guests don’t know any better.

Disney: Hey, magical friends! Would you be interested in a Burger King in the parks?

General guests: YES!

Disney: Hey, princess! Would you be interested in a Futurama ride in the parks?

General guests: Why, yes! We would!

Disney: Hey, folks! Would you be interested in spinning benches on Main Street?

General guests: Do tell!

been a grave concern of mine for quite some time considering, if combined with short-sighted and timid leadership, it results in decisions catering to the lcd

a more demanding audience or executives allowing themselves to invest in creative courage... one or the other

ability to not see every. damn. thing. attached to immediate roi would be a start

but that's what giant conglomerates do

c'est la vie
