Michael Jackson Verdict

I'm no MJ fan, but did you follow the details of this trial at all? The mother of the victim was scamming everybody in town and getting wealthy off handouts and personal injury claim settlements.

You want to know what was the jury smoking? Here's a question - what was the PROSECUTOR smoking when he included a conspiracy charge of kidnapping or holding the family against their will? The whole time the mama was supposedly being kidnapped, she was going on shopping sprees paid for by MJ, visiting HER OWN LAWYER to get a passport and NEVER SAID A WORD about being in any trouble. If the jury had to consider that BOGUS charge, there had to have been a carryover effect when they were considering what to believe on the other charges.

The whole thing turns one's stomach, but the end result was predictable.

I heard that he's selling Neverland for something in the neighborhood of $37 million.

Someone has to pay for all those surgeries...

I am honestly upset that he was presumed innocent.
I'm 17 and in no way a Wack-Jacko fan.
Admitted, I had no clue who Jackson was until this year, and I'm not kidding, it's the trial that's made him famous with teens/young adults my age, sad, eh?
But anyways, I find him guilty, and I know that doesn't matter, but the fact that on all 10 charges and 5 lesser charges, not once was he found guilty, which even the supporters figured at least thrice he would be charged, makes me wonder if money was involved in this verdict/decision.
Was the jury swayed/persuaded?
Hmm...

I think many peeople are just looking at Michael Jackson now and saying "He looks weird. He must have done it." I think he was inncent. Heck, I don't even like Michael Jackson and I backed him through a good majority of the court case. MKCP said it right, I don't think people are actually paying attention to the case either.

The post above was not about any specific member of WDWMagic.

And how many articles, or news breifings have you looked or listened to about this trial?

You sound like you no nothing about the family who brought them to court.

The mom is not all there in the head. She brought up her kids to lie.

I have been a Michael Jackson fan my whole life and have always empathized with him. Not that I am a celebrity, but I too am seen as weird and childlike (I'd imagine many of you here, on a Disney website, have been viewed similarly) Like him I was raised as a Jehovahs Witness and felt like Holidays and certain parts of being a normal child were robbed from me. If I had the money I am sure I'd have my own personal theme park as well. I've always felt in my gut of guts that he is innocent of all these charges. True he needs some serious psychological help, but I just don't think he has it in his heart to hurt anyone, especially a child. I was very pleased today when I heard the verdict and I hope that he will be able to heal from all of this and if by some chance he is actually guilty (Not that I think he is, but... ) that this experience will stop him from doing it again.

I have watched every step of the trail, The_CEO.
And yes, the mom was a bit out of it, but I don't think that a family would go through so much just for nothing. If the trial had been short, yes, maybe that is a possibility, but they knew the length it would be, and I don't think they would have done it if they knew it would come up negative.
Thinking back to what I said on another forum, I still think money was involved, despite what you or any other may think.
Take the child out of the man, but can't take the man out of the child.
I feel he will just do it again, maybe not now, maybe not soon, but a decade or two...there's no stopping him, now that he knows he can get away with no charges.
That's another thing that got me thinking this was fishy: How did he get off without at least one charge? And if anything, a lesser one? Even the jury, I think, would have enough sense for that.
Or is the judiciary system in America flawed?
We will never know.

Perhaps he didn't do it. I think the jury had what 30 + hours to decide his fate? Is he weird? Yes. It doesn't mean he did it though. This family saw they could pull the same stunt on him and proceeded to do so.

But it is ironic how the same guy got OJ off also....

Reminds me of that movie...whats it called? Runaway Jury....

:lookaroun

He's guilty, there's no way this thing get this far if there isn't a chance he is...not even if the prosecutors got it in for him...

Any parent that leaves their child with MJ (from this moment on) should be reported to the authorities...even if he was found innocent, the accusations alone (from different people) should stand for something....why would you leave your kid with someone like him anyway...he has crazy written all over his face...

*sigh*

And to think his music had a catchy tune...maybe there's hidden messages in his lyrics...:lookaroun

Oh well...

I use to think there was some maturity on this board, but I do wonder now.

The parents were fine with the kid staying at the Ranch as LONG AS THEY WERE PROFITING. The parents did NOT bring this up to the DA. The DA saw the film, then investigated. In fact, the child at first said nothing ever happened.

I think a Tara Mae should go back to school. In America we are INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY not the other way around.

I think that Jacko was actually pretty smart, or at least not terribley stupid. He went after children from disfunctional families becuase he knew their testimony wouldn't stand up in court. That's how I think he got away with it.

Either way we all tuned in to watch right?

Just what the media and everyone in the media pool wanted...

Now if he could lift his career out of the dirt.
