I too find it a little hard believe that most 17yr olds havent heard of MJ and his music. Im 19 (I'll be twenty in about two weeks!!!) and my sister just turned 18, and we both grew up listening to his music, since my parents were such big fans. My mom even saw him in concert as a member of the Jackson 5! Talk about being a long time fan! I also used to live in New Port Beach, California for many years.... a close drive to Disneyland. Those of you that visited Disneyland in the late eighties and early nineties know where I'm going with this..... CAPTAIN EO!!! My sister and I LOVED that show and would listen to the theme song all the time!
But even if my parents werent fans, I'm sure I would have at least heard of him before the age of 17 , since he is such a present person in our society's pop culture! Heck, people from all over the world know who he is, and were watching this trial! Also, I find it amusing that todays teens are listening to modern R&B and pop, and not even know who influenced these artists that are currently churning hit after hit... people like Usher, Justin Timberlake, and countless other artists were influenced by the gloved one himself. Its so obvious!
I still really dont know what to think.... I'm not convinced either way, but my mom, who has been a fan of his since childhood, believed he was guilty.
