I'm no insider, but from the way MiceAge and WDW1974 have described it, the Captain America coaster could be revolutionary. I don't think it's just another Rock n Roller Coaster.

I can agree with this. Although, at the same time, I think that back corner sure needs something. If it wasn't for the Animation building, I'd be okay with them getting rid of the entire Hollywood area.

Wait, what about ToT and the Hyperion?

I imagine it would end up being similar to the TRON coaster in Shanghai. Still I'm sure theres something more innovative they could do with the property other that another coaster.

The Cap coaster isn't really a coaster in the traditional sense - it's a show scene-filled ride on coaster track, like Gringott's (but hopefully with physical elements instead of just giant 3D screens).

sounds promising. Is the area still dubbed Marvel Studios or has that changed?

I sure hope it's more like Gringott's and less like Magic Mountain's Dark Knight wild mouse. :D

I don't know. I'd question that because the Universal contract stipulates that the name Marvel can't be used in marketing materials in the United States for other theme parks - which would seem to preclude a land name from including "Marvel". It's why Super Hero HQ was named that instead of Marvel HQ or something similar.

There's so much they can do with the property/properties. Way too much, actually.

Marvel doesn't deserve a back corner.
Like saving it for a third park along with Star Wars?

Definitely. That area needs work. I think it says a lot that arguably the most popular attraction in Hollywood Land is the Animation Building. I don't think I've ever seen one negative opinion about the Animation Building. Maybe the Hyperion Theatre as well. It's funny because the actual Hollywood is a mere hour away, at most, and this is what we get. Not to mention Disney itself played a huge role in Hollywood from the 30's on. There's so much potential, but we end up with Monsters Inc. (not saying I don't enjoy that ride, I do, but it's completely out of place).
Yeah Hollywood Land kind of sucked. Monsters and Tower were OK but Tower was also neutered of the perfect build up of the original. Aladdin was good too but other than that, yeesh.

Definitely sounds better but why not go for Avengers? Weird to dedicate a ride like that solely to Cap.

I rode that same ride at Great Adventure. Absolutely terrible.

This is what I'm confused about... If Marvel is supposed to tie into Hollywood Land, why is Guardians of the Galaxy being considered? Captain America makes sense, but Guardians?

Sounds cool Eventhough Captain America Wouldn't be my choice for the first Disney Marvel IP ride. In fact , if there are going to be substantial show scenes I would much rather have a GOTG attraction.

So what kind of thrills are we talking about with this coaster? Big Thunder or Space Mountain/ Screamin?

I guess what I'm hoping for is something like a more thrilling roller coaster version of Indy. Indy never gets fast enough to be thrilling, although it's a great attraction I rarely ride it. It doesn't offer the same repeatability that rides like Splash, Space Mountain and Big Thunder do.

I just want a high-capacity, slow moving water-based dark ride that takes up 10 minutes of my day so I can catch my breath at DCA. Is that really asking too much!?!?

I am curious if, thematically, things will take on a comic book look ala IOA or will be more in-line with the movies. I'm hoping the former as the movies will no doubt continue to evolve stylistically over the years (just look at how different comic book movies were just 10-15 years ago).

If its themed solely after the collector then I guess its fine since he's apparently been alive for billions of years? Maybe theres some relic he's after thats housed in an old hollywood hotel?

It's not supposed to be an old Hollywood hotel anymore, right? I'm assuming that would change.

That does sound really cool. But it's kinda disappointing to me personally because it's another ride my family can't do together at DCA. I have a husband that has panic attacks in high motion situations, sooooooo.

Please, no more screens or 3D or any garbage that makes me want to puke. I can do coasters but stuff like Star Tours or Forbidden Journey...ugh. That's why I'm afraid of what we'll get with "The Star Wars Experience."
