Miceage Update 12/1/2015

I just want a high-capacity, slow moving water-based dark ride that takes up 10 minutes of my day so I can catch my breath at DCA. Is that really asking too much!?!?
But DCA already has a high-capacity, slow-moving underwater-based dark ride that takes up several minutes and puts people to sleep! :)
As much as I'd love a nice, long water ride that isn't Grizzly Soakin' River, I don't know where they'd put it or what IP it would be based on (because we all know it's now forbidden to build non-IP attractions in U.S. Disney Parks).

(EDIT) Oh, wait--Got it! A water ride through the magical worlds of Lucas, Pixar, Muppets and Lucas to the tune of "Money!": It's a Bought World.

If you aren't out of the sun, then it doesn't count!

3D is so, meh.

3D is one effect out of many that -- when used properly and sparingly -- can be great. Spidey at IOA is a perfect example of this IMO. The way they blend physical sets and props with 3D creates an insanely immersive environment. To me, Spidey still ranks as one of the best attractions around and I haven't even seen it since its HD upgrade. It is great in every way.

3D is not the enemy. Overuse and misuse of it is! :)

Maybe because he fits the time period? Then again we are getting Guardians ride as well.
Exactly. If Cap was chosen because he fit the theme then they're not being consistent at all by also choosing Guardians. You go one one way or the other, you can't have both.
Y'know, they should just seriously consider re-theming DCA altogether and call it Acquisitionland.
:hilarious:

Spider-Man was already top notch, but the 4K3D pushes it over the edge. It's marvelous. NO PUN INTENDED LOLOLOLOL

If any new coaster they build has physical sets and evokes Rock n Rollercoaster then I say no thank you.

Unless 3D has a stomach churning effect on guests. I just don't want them to start building more and more of these types of rides that effect people this way.

New update today mentions several things, but isn't clear on the timeline for all of them. Some we already know, others are new:

- May 2017 for Guardians of Tower
- No Pixar Parade from September 2016 to summer 2017
- New parking facility, skybridge and bus loop for spring 2018
- New parking lot and redo of DTD (????)
- New Hotel (????)
- Frozen village and E-Ticket (????)
- Marvel Land, now extending into current Esplanade bus loop (????)

Sounds like they are grasping at straws regarding the location of Marvel land. Maybe it can be put in Simba with a bridge connecting it to DCA and a Marvel themed hotel surrounding it?

So Mice Age says ToT “is now planned to close this September. The project is slated to take until next May to complete, and will require reconstruction of the existing exterior queue as well as heavy modification to the interior queue and ride system itself.”

While the Disneyland news release of July 13th described the Halloween Time events, including “the haunts who reside year-round at The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror invite guests to “drop in” at Disney California Adventure Park.”

Hopefully that redo get pushed back for a long while. Now if they could just return Space Mountain to it's normal operations with fixed projections.

In the comments to the update, Dusty Sage repeats that ToT is going:

Dusty MiceChat Sage MiceChat Staff:
The cat is way out of the bag on the Tower redo. The announcement could come as soon as Comic Con this weekend.
