Meeting Characters

I have always felt that you're not truly in Disney until your first character sighting. :sohappy: I'll be heading to WDW in August and was wondering what characters are there and where I can see them!

Also, are there any more "secret" or rare characters that appear in the parks. And if so, where can I see 'em! :D

Here are the locations of some of the characters:
MK
Toontown
Tink, Iridessa, Rosetta, Fawn, and Silvermist (you meet 3 of the fairies at a time)
3 Princesses (usually Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora)
Mickey and Minnie- Judge's Tent
teardrop- possibility for random characters

Fantasyland
Ariel- Ariel's Grotto
Pooh and Tigger- Pooh's Playground
Alice and Mad Hatter- Teacups

Tomorrowland
Buzz and Stitch- around CoP

Frontierland
Goofy- near Splash Mountain
Donald

Adventureland
Peter Pan, Hook, Smee- near PotC
Aladdin and Jasmine- across from Carpet Ride

Town Square
Chip and Dale
Pluto
Daisy

Just a few sidenotes:

Toontown
Minnie MAY be in the Judge's Tent- she isn't listed on the times guide and she does need to go powder her nose occassionally.


Fantasyland
The Mad Hatter in now in Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It so the White Rabbit appears at the Teacups instead of the Mad Hatter. You can still meet the Mad Hatter over at the Grand Floridian Breakfast at 1900 park Fare.

Adventureland
I've heard that Wendy has been seen hanging around the Pirates area with Peter, Hook, and Smee lately. You can also see Captain Jack Sparrow doing his Pirate Tutorial there, however its not a meet and greet


Town's Square
Pinocchio is the only character from his movie appearing in Town's Square these days- unfortunately Jiminy Cricket (who can be seen at Animal Kingdom at Rafiki's Planet Watch) and Gepetto are no longer appearing there. I've also heard that Mary Poppins is a rare find there these days.

Epcot-

Mexico
Donald Duck is there in the afternoon wearing his 3 caballeros costume.

Main Entrance area
Stitch and Daisy from around 11am-2:30pm

Innoventions/land area
Chip and Dale

There is a slight possibility of seeing some random characters in the hallway behind character spot or near the rear exit of Club Cool


Animal Kingdom

Camp Minnie Mickey
for part of the day you can also meet Kenai and/or Koda (they may not both be there) and Chip and Dale. Pocahantas makes appearances occassionally.

Dinoland
Goofy and Pluto

Mercantile
Stitch is there but sometimes Lilo has a surf lesson and can't make it

That's interesting. I did hear that story used once when I was in line to meet Minnie at her gazebo. So, my mistake, Minnie is sometimes baking a cheesecake and isn't at Judge's tent.

That's OK. I only mentioned it 'cause that phrase specifically came up during my Attendant training this week. Also Pluto never goes to get a bone and Chip & Dale don't leave to search for nuts.

Cheesecake is, of course, a great reason for Minnie to not be there.

One of my favorite secret character ares is when you enter Main St. go in the Kodak shop on the right. Go all the way to the back and there is a little movie theater. That area is where characters walk onto Main St. from back stage and you should see quite a few going back and forth in there.

I can give a little DAK info...

Camp Minnie-Mickey has Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Kenai, Koda, Pocahontas, Pluto (the last five aren't out all the time)

Character Landing (also known as "Boat Dock") has Eeyore, Pooh and Tigger. Piglet is not at DAK.

Oasis has various characters, some that you may find are: Ratcliff, Meeko, Flik, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, Timon, Terk and Chipmunks

There are also characters near the baby care/Creature Comforts section, usually Terk and Flik.

They've also just opened a new spot called Bradley Falls which normall has Baloo and Flik.

Hook and Smee are out year-round (not just for the holidays).

I think the only holiday-only characters are:
*Maleficent, Frollo, and Cruella and Snow Queen- mnsshp (Snow Queen does pop up every once in awhile at DHS)

*7 Dwarves- mnsshp

*Tarzan and Jane- mnssshp

*Jessie and Bullseye- mnsshp and mvmcp

*Abu- mnsshp and mvmcp

*Prince Philip- mnsshp and mvmcp

*Snow Prince- mvmcp

*Scrooge- mvmcp

Those are ones off the top of my head

you will be able to catch Lady Tremaine and the two step sisters where Belle does her show inside of magic kingdom next to the castle.. across from Cosmic Rays. They come out 10 minutes after Belle does her show.. this is a good find!

VERY interesting lists. I can't wait for mnsshp and mvmcp this year ! I love meeting rare characters and especially when they are dressed in decorative costumes!
