Not happening in any way , sorry to break your bubble. Restrictions WILL be in place , all of the things you said you hoped won’t be cancelled will either be cancelled or heavily restricted.
Backlash won’t happen as it’s your choice to go or not , you decide if you’re going. If you refuse to respect the guidelines that WDW will put out , you stay home. Simple.

Nice tamper tantrum , not happy about it ? Just stay home.
The words "if" must totally screw with people. It's hypothetical. Relax Disney Warrior.

Dear wife & I will not go UNTIL masking is mandated both at WDW, and on US Airlines (Canada has already mandated masking on their flights).
How did you ever visit WDW in the first place? Judging by your post, one could only assume that it would have been terrifying for you and your family considering the germ contamination existing prior to all of this

And security guards are being shot because someone wouldn't wear a mask trying to get into the store to buy toilet paper. What's going to happen when little Johnny's dad, who's spent thousands of dollars to come to the happiest place on Earth, is told little Johnny can't ride Dumbo because he doesn't have a mask on? Disney is going to have it's hands full trying to enforce a mask policy.

At Shanghai Disneyland you can't even get through the turnstiles without a mask on.

Various airlines are making them mandatory, and you'll have to wear them before boarding.

Just getting to Dumbo means you'll have to have a mask on at some point.

Yes, but it doesn't mean people aren't going to be taking them off at various points all day long once in the parks. How many cast members are Disney going to have to employ to enforce that on everyone?

You would most likely be reminded to wear a mask if you tried to enter any building or queue. CMs would be positioned at those entrances as they normally would. You can see this at SDL where CMs are also holding multi-lingual signs reminding people of the rules.

If you started harassing an employee because you didn't like the mask policy you would risk being escorted out of the park.

You would however, be allowed to take off your mask when you sit down to eat.

I just don't think masks are the answer. They will be soaked through with sweat in about an hour, losing much of their effectiveness at this point. Then people will be constantly tugging at them, increasing the risk of getting the virus on their hands and then touching common surfaces that others will then touch. I think social distancing can work, maybe wear masks on any indoor attractions that are air conditioned with people sitting socially distanced from each other. I definitely think Disney will be keeping an eye on Disney Springs and how people react with the masks and then examine the feedback they get.

For me, it depends on the time of the year. My asthma will not let me wear a face mask long periods of time outside in the FL humidity during the summer. If it was during the cooler months, I would definitely wear a face mask. I've loved Disney all my life but not enough to die for it ;). I already have a hard time breathing the August humidity - can't imagine what a face mask would do to me LOL.

So what you're saying is that the government is a massive steaming pile of political liars so perhaps erring on the side of safety would be the right and smart thing to do? Fauci does not say that anymore. Your post is an argument for either stand. Politics is in your future.
Between the media and politicians… Yup, a pile of DS. Take my state.... 80% of all deaths in nursing homes.... You look at the ages of everybody that has died.... 97% over 75.... This is the biggest overaction in history driving by the media....

Stanford study of Santa Clara County showed 54 times the amount of people actually had it.... Do you know what that does to the death %???????

So 97% of the lives of the over 75 are worthless to you. Thankfully, you are not one of my children. A person, one single person that dies represents 100% of their reason for concern. I suspect when you get to be around 75+ your attitude will change dramatically. Believe what you want, just don't think you are smarter then the experts and are willing to risk the lives of others because of that. Every single life is worthy of living. It isn't your choice that others die so your life is "easier". When a human life becomes a bartering tool, we have failed completely as a society and whatever nasty stuff comes our way, we deserve.

Did I say that? No I didn't. Do I think older people or people with major health issues should stay home or social distance, of course. Do I think young people should get back to work and open the economy... Yup.... Your post is 100% what is wrong with discussing anything in 2020... Get a grip... Sorry, there has to be a balance between getting back to "normal life" and the economy and trying to save lives.... If you don't get that, you are clueless

I don't think it is me that needs to get a grip. Your whole statement was, whats the big deal it's only those old people that are dying in any numbers, who cares. Let's infect a few more.

I read your post and I understood it the same way as he did , if that’s not what you mean you should have worded it better. A good tldr of your post is “it’s only old people who cares if we infect them they’ll just die they’re old anyway”

WDW needs a new attraction called "Hulk Smash"... you put people who don't follow the rules on it.

There’s no if aside from if you’re not happy with the guidelines you don’t go. The rest is already set in stone. See Disneyland Shanghai.
Shanghai has been wearing masks forever. Their air quality is horrible. You may wear it in but, there is no way that thing is lasting all day on anyone.

Keep in mind that - at least with Shanghai Disney - masks are not the only new rule. Drastically reduced attendance limits are also in place, as well as other protocols, making it easier for the existing number of CMs to monitor guests.
