Remember that wearing masks in Asian countries has been common place for ages. Often just as warm and humid at times as Orlando can ever be. And many of them happen to have theme parks, including several with the Disney name.

The biggest problem with masks is who would want to go when a mask is costing around 5 dollars now and when you remove it you are supposed to toss it... and during any day at the amusement park how many times will you need to remove and replace it? It gets wet on water ride, you'll need a new one... you get some breakfast or snack, need to remove and replace... get lunch... need to remove and replace... get dinner remove replace... the typical person would probably run through 5 or 6 masks in a day, so now they are spending another 25 or 30 dollars.... and that assumes they can even find a mask anywhere. I just don't see masks as being practical

Make em like the 3d glasses. Rather than tossing em, collect, sterilize, seal, and pass back out. Or alternatively, most of the masks that the non medical community wear shouldn't be $5 a pop.

For years, Disney hasn't let adults come into the parks with masks. Even on days where costumes are allowed, masks were never allowed. I understand that now they might be required? So why did they ban them for so make years? Are those reasons not valid anymore?

For years, people in the western world thought wearing masks in public meant you were a leper (or the modern day equivalent). As that perception changes, so may other rules and guidelines.
So while the desire to be able to identify people still remains, there are times where the common good can outweigh other concerns.

I'm not going to trust a place like Disney to really sterilize masks properly... frankly I have my doubts about whether the reusable 3-d glasses are going to be around when they open back up. I never really thought of them as sterilizing the glasses only as washing them quickly to try and remove finger prints on the lenses.

As for non-medical grade masks.... if you aren't going to wear good ones then you are just telling the world you are really only having the guests do it for show. If Disney allows guest to either not wear them or to wear ineffective ones then you've now opened Disney up to being sued by CMs that might get sick. Right now you have the argument when a employee somewhere gets sick that they were essential employees... but when Disney opens up they won't have that argument to use in their defense because Disney isn't essential, and if the reopening rule in Florida is like the one in my state it probably came with the qualifier that the business opening back up had to follow certain guidelines set out by the government.

I haven't been able to find any indication that the Florida re-opening task force or the Orange Co. re-opening task force have mentioned anything about the guests wearing masks at theme parks. The employees, yes, but nothing for the customers. Just social distancing, hand sanitizers, etc. It eventually may come to that, but to this point it hasn't been part of any mandates I don't believe.

Sure I would wear a mask at WDW. I wear a mask now when I go out even though most likely it isn't as hot where I live as it is in the Orlando area I would keep myself hydrated with water and rest if I felt like I was having trouble breathing. I wouldn't let a mask stop me from having that sort of fun.

I wear a mask at work. I don't wear a mask in public. I'm certainly not going on vacation and wearing a mask. I highly doubt WDW will require mask. It's too hard to enforce. It's pointless because people will be drinking all day long in the heat. If they can't drink they'll be dropping over from dehydration and heat exhaustion.

I can totally understand if you are a Florida resident who are a casual WDW goer and can go into the park for a few hours and ride a couple of rides and have a meal and leave than you can most likely tolerate the mask. Those coming from out of State or from another country and they expect to spend the entire day in the parks in the heat that just isn't going to work with a mask on all day. I voted no because I am from the latter.

A member of the medical community that is a lung specialist remarked to my DW that the simple paper or fabric masks do not effectively protect the wearer and/or the people around them, as they do not block all particulate matter and they do not seal perfectly. People would be better wearing the half-faced respirator masks with the filter cartridges on them that form an effective seal around the face, but those would be even hotter in the Florida heat (I had to wear one daily for many years, in a hot factory, and it was...unpleasant).
Did they pay no attention to the two chinese children who died from having to wear them during PE? People wearing them and doing all that walking in the heat is going to have dire consequences.

I still think they may have some sort of compromise type situation. Like when you're just walking around the park you just have to social distance with no mask as best you can. Then maybe you put one on when you queue up for an attraction, or maybe you wear one in an air conditioned inside attraction like Monsters, Tough to be a Bug, etc. It just doesn't seem to make sense to wear one in 90 plus degree heat with the effectiveness greatly reduced when it soaks through with sweat.

I did come up with a system beat though - just always have some sort of snack in your hand. Pretzel, chips, whatever. "I'm eating so I can't wear the mask right now". haha

If masks are compulsory then you can bet it will be a "all food and drinks must be consumed within designated areas" type rule.

If this means that there won't be any cancellation of parades, fireworks, meet and greets, getting closer than 6 feet(like 5'11" is going to cause the virus to jump us); I'll by some neoprene masks. If they are going to dictate what the masks should be, especially in June-September, they need to get ready for a backlash.

No backlash at all. If they require it, you do it or you stay home. You do have a choice. Stay home and watch a video of it on You Tube.

Not happening in any way , sorry to break your bubble. Restrictions WILL be in place , all of the things you said you hoped won’t be cancelled will either be cancelled or heavily restricted.
Backlash won’t happen as it’s your choice to go or not , you decide if you’re going. If you refuse to respect the guidelines that WDW will put out , you stay home. Simple.

Masks are the most stupid thing ever, you cant breath you look like a idiot, yes I want my Disney photos with mask if stupidity on, and some of us havecastma and can not breathe in them. This corona crsp needs to go, Two months is ling enough for this stupudity. And waiting is not going to help if they require the mask of stupidity it will be forever.

Nice tamper tantrum , not happy about it ? Just stay home.

I have asthma (and type 1 diabetes)—there is NO WAY I am going to a Disney park (or anywhere with crowds) any time soon. As much as I am saddened that we had to cancel our DLR trip this summer, we can’t jeopardize my health or the health of our family. We thought of those 80k who died and those who died in the Vietnam war, and are just thankful for our health. Going to Disney and possibly wearing a mask is truly a first world problem.
