Looking at the cover art for the first edition in your hands reveals this neat hidden detail that i think any long time fan of the Original JII will find a delight to spot :

Take a look below at a close up of Dreamfinder*s waistcoat.

It sure made me smile today....

Always nice to see those classic EPCOT Center Pavilion Logos.

Mid-July if memory is firing on all cylinders today...( shakes head ).
I believe someone posted that info much earlier in this thread.
( just checked...July 2nd )

So #2 should be floating about 'out there' soon.

Here is the Standard Cover artwork for 'Figment - issue #2 below, originally posted here by Tahu.
It will be interesting to see what the 'Variant Covers' will be this time around...and by who...if any.

NOTE: According to the comic store owner {I got a five issue sub for Figment for free with 10% off each purchase of the comic} Issue #1 is in its 2nd Printing, Issue #2 is ALSO in its second printing as of this afternoon at 1500 East Coast American Time. Apparently Figment is popoular enough for his comic to sell out within days of it even hitting store shelves {Its not available at the comic store until store opening 2 July {tomorrow as of this post}} I was JUST barely able to get issue #1 {they had to order more}

So just so we all know, Issues one and two of Figment are BOTH undergoing their second printing, Issue One {2nd printing} is to be on shelves starting 2 July, and Issue Two {2nd printing} is to be on shelves by or around 22 July.

Once I was told the odds of NOT getting a copy u ntil later in the month, I said to the store owner "Sign me up please" Now to wait for the email of "ready for pickup"

According to some comics news sites, much of the high Figment sales are owed to Marvel and Diamond Comics alike underestimating the demand, basing their issue orders on Seekers of the Weird, which wasn't all that hot a seller. Obviously, people care waaay more about Imagination then an obscure rejected concept.

And that's probably going to stay that way for at least issue #3. First issues tend to move a lot, and then there's usually a significant drop-off for subsequent issues.

Just finished issue #2 and I gotta say, Figment gets all the best lines, I really like his note of "This is the most spectacular place I've ever seen! And I've only been alive for three days" while he's knocking water out of his ears

It's out in stores already? Well looks like I have to go get my copy.

Yes, even Issue #1 left me with that impression - too short.
Ah but of course...that is how you get hooked into buying the next issue....!
;)

After reading issue #1 and seeing the previews for #2 i have to confess a honest overview.
I am not overly thrilled with the quality of the art in the interior.
My impression once seeing it in hand was a little disappointing, as the artwork looks a bit sloppy in places.
Figment also does not look quite himself...his body proportions and facial appearance is way off.
Now i understand how artists have their own *style* of drawing and all.....but this effort left me wanting to see more detailed execution.

Perhaps that may seem a little harsh, but i felt the quality of the actual comic panel art could have been much better.
It was not quite what i was expecting to see in a Disney-themed comic, particularly one such as this with such strong visuals associated with it.
The covers ( especially Cover #1 )set things up on a high note....and i kind of wish that same level of detailed drawing style was present between said covers.

I am probably alone in my observations.....but i wanted to express them.
It is great that this comic series was started, and i have enjoyed the story so far...but i was hoping for top notch comic artwork to come with the package as well.

That's.... awesome.
The story should be longer in issues 3 and 4 then if it is to be escalating that quickly by issue 5.

And... how he becomes the Dreamfinder.
Make me wonder if the success of the series will push them into making more.
