Man it’s surprising how many people here actually knew this guy
His family went to church with my family, we all lived in the west panhandle. His grandfather owned a bunch of land and gas stations and so a lot of money in the family. He turned out like the typical rich kid that felt he was above everyone which was odd cause like I said, his parents were super kind, humble and modest people.

Is like they say “it’s a small world after all…” lol

I thought they were in the supermarket business…

Ok, I thought I read that they had Piggly Wiggly supermarkets…more like a Publix than a Wawa…but I’ll take your word for it.
They did, just not large Piggly Wigglys. They may have ownd the larger one but not sure. I know one close to our home was a Piggly Wiggly Express and then there was an older gas station everyone just called “The Buck”.

But yea nothing nice or small like Wawa but smaller than Publix

They did own Piggly Wigglys. As this YouTube video goes over, there were police records in another part of Florida showing that Patrick was actually the prime suspect in a theft at one of his parents' stores, but once the police said that was where the investigation was leading, his parents stopped cooperating.

Another reason why he's not a trustworthy source, including when he now claims Buzzy wasn't stolen.

Yea sounds about right. Actually called my sister this evening to talk about it as she didn’t know much other than then the basics of the Buzzy situation lol. I’ll admit I didn’t even know about him stealing from his own family stores but that tracks. Sadly as kind as his parents are, they seem to be quick to always try and get him out of his own crap.

Stolen Kingdom is available to stream as part of the film festival it debuted in!! It's video on demand for $11.50 through the 27th, and having just paid for the stream I think it's well worth it. I think it really excels in how it enunciates the divide between people like Dave and Ed who were exploring out of love for the park, people like Adam and Matt that were doing it for content, and then Patrick doing his own thing. It was a fun trip down memory lane for me and so surreal knowing a story I was part of nearly seven years ago is now a movie.

I guess the bottom line is without Disney’s assistance, law enforcement isn’t really going to keep up the in-depth investigation needed to close this case completely. It looks like Disney is satisfied if the whole matter disappears like Buzzy, which is unfortunate because Patrick will continue with the smug attitude. His parents created this monster by their complacency and enabling…I guess we should just be glad he’s not our kid…

I obtained those records about the Piggly Wiggly theft a few years ago after getting an anonymous tip that there was something relevant about Buzzy in there. That part turned out not to be true -- Patrick's Disney case was only mentioned in passing -- and I didn't report it at the time because it really wasn't a theme park story if it was just about Patrick's post-Disney exploits.

That YouTuber came around asking for some help on records on the Buzzy theft a while later and thought that was the better spot for info about the Piggly Wiggly theft to be reported.

Patrick can't verify that the figure wasn't stolen, but nobody can really verify that he was either. Without evidence to back it up nobody's a trustworthy source.
The evidence is the police records showing a theft was reported and the subsequent investigation. There's no evidence to refute all of that.

This is what they’ve wanted for the last seven years. The whole story is horrible optics for them.
Now that part you're likely right about. Disney saw more harm in the theft getting publicized and the police investigating the case eventually caught on. It's exactly what I would have told "Stolen Kingdom," but they didn't seem to think my reporting on this was worth discussing.

Maybe a more appropriate title would have been Stolen Magic.
