Could someone please remind me who y'all like to follow for good hurricane coverage? I know there are some local weather guys in Florida who are highly regarded, but can't recall their names or which stations they work for.

I'm a huge fan of WFTV. Following @BrianShieldsTV and @TTerryWFTV on Twitter is great for updates. They're also calmer than a lot of other news stations.

I'm sure everyone will have different thoughts, but personally use WESH. When I was growing up in Florida my parents watched them and their current weather team is very good about no hype. Eric Burris is my main go to. He does wonderful Facebook lives during the day on these events and every morning at 8am he host a coffee talk live from his living room. Their team is very interactive answer questions live and no hype or scare.

This strength of this storm is beyond belief. In a few hors to increase from sustained winds of 150 to 180 MPH is unheard of. That along with its slow pace leave me extremely worried about the Bahamas. I hope the Disney fans step up, we all spend a fortune on Disney and Universal vacations so there should be no excuse not to help those in need in the Bahamas. Also we should be ready to help those in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. I expect Disney to make a contribution too, especially since they own 2 Islands and have cast members directly affected.

I look at the National Hurricane Center web site they give updates every 3 hours and over the years seem to get it right. Dorian has become a monster. If I remember correctly Camille was a small storm with winds id 200. Dorian is huge. Lets hope the tracks projected are correct and and fall on the US will not occur

My brother was stationed at Keesler when it hit....
