Yeah there’s no supplies in Tampa except beer so I traveled across the galaxy today.

My Dh and I are to be arriving Sept 4th and fly back on Sept 8th. I'm thinking by Thursday the parks should be open but will the airport be open on Wednesday for my arrival?

Were in the nashville area, and will be driving, we go down through birmingham, and that way to avoid the travesty thats known as Atlanta.

If Dorian makes it into the Gulf and decides to turn into a Katrina or Michael, I'm heading to Birmingham.

That all depends on what damage the storm causes - no one can say now if the airport will be open on Wednesday without knowing the actual impact of the storm.

Hey now, I live in Atlanta. That would be offensive if it weren't true :p

If only there was a way to go around Hotlanta (one of my profs called it that - he visited regularly to pick up college girls) driving north....

Love visiting, hate driving through it.

Do you guys in FL do contraflow? I seem to recall they ruled that out some time ago.

It's possible. The Governor's Emergency Declaration gives DOT full authority to determine if that is needed. Driving between Jacksonville and Tallahassee on I-10, you'll see "Emergency Evacuation Route" signs posted for westbound traffic (facing east) on both east and westbound lanes. Just past the I-10 / I-75 intersection, there is an empty lane that provides for contraflow traffic in the eastbound lanes to re-enter the westbound lanes.
