I have no idea what we’re doing. 🤷🏼‍♀️
For now, following and fretting.
You’re going...
If you don't arrive on Monday, don't worry, your room won't vanish...as long as you've done online check-in. I've showed up a day later than planned. Guard at the gate house just looked at me funny, "weren't you supposed to arrive yesterday?"
...correct. The only way this would not be the case is if something really unusual happens...in which case nobody would be going

Windfinder, based on GFS Model.
Monday at 2pm and Tuesday at 2pm. If this happens, parks will be closed all day Monday and Tuesday. Sunday will be very chaotic with evacuations, traffic, shopping, with food and gas sold out at various locations. Here in the Keys we are just on the outside of the cone, but I filled the car and bought more food and beer.

Love Publix.

Which reminds me, went again on my lunch break and they did not get water restock on their truck overnight like they were supposed to and they don't know if they will be getting anymore before they shut down Sunday afternoon. Still out of many staples including bread, canned tuna, etc.

Let me reiterate what I said yesterday, with more urgency this time, now is the time to seriously consider revising your travel plans. If you can leave early (Saturday) or arrive late (Tuesday or Wednesday), please do so.

I was there around this time last year...I would have cancelled if it were me. Looks like 4 days of angst/disruptions.

But you have till probably tomorrow morning before it’s “go time” for that deadline.

Hopefully it works out/blows over

What is there typical protocol for closing the park? certain wind speeds? rain fall?

Closing the park is based on wind. We get very heavy rain almost every day in the summer.
There is no official protocol...it’s a decision made more organically. There are a lot of factors to consider.

Why? The tremendous amount of revenue/costs associated with each operational minute.

Just as TJ was saying earlier that he thought there should be an easier mechanism to cancel things?

They won’t allow that...because of revenue. Tightly controlled.

Latest ensemble models have everything shifting North and East. This is trending to match the European ensembles which favored a solution which stayed off shore and hugged the east coast up the peninsula.

Funny thing is, I had to cancel Halloween Party tickets in 2017 because of Irma, yet the chat folks WERE able to refund through that. This company has no consistency at all.

I read somewhere that Amazon has water for delivery. Prime? Maybe get it by tomorrow?

Yes. You can do Amazon Now for a small delivery fee if your area is available. That's same day.

Disney will not close unless they are forced to.

The factor which will force the parks to close are the ability to adequately staff the parks operation. If CM's are legally not allowed to utilize roads or curfews and restrictions are put into place for the general public, Disney closes and utilizes the ride out crews until they can be relieved.

The other is the liability Disney would face if they negligently continued operations in adverse conditions.

To put it in simple terms: yes.

That is about money...nobody will want to believe that...but it is true.
