Good spot! (pun intended)

I've heard good things about these instruments, though I don't have any hands on experience with them myself.

I wish the installation were cleaner, but the fixtures themselves are a great choice for this application.

I have 15 D60s in my inventory, they are punchy and produce beautiful colors!

I don't like having to drive my wife's car when mine is in the shop getting refurbished- it makes it a pain to get to work and figure out who's going to be where, when. However, when my car is all fixed and new, I'll understand it's necessary and worth it, but in the mean time I'm going to gripe about it. What's so hard to understand about that?
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! gotta feel bad for these people who are miserable and do nothing but obsess over a non-official Disney site. But i do appreciate u understanding what i was saying....u dont get that alot on this site

Although it would be nice to have retractable parade lighting, I really don't think it's necessary in the hub. Disneyland's hub lights have been visible for years and nobody complains about them (and DLR's APers love to complain about everything). But when you're not looking at photos of them, they blend into the background and go unnoticed. Most people strolling through MK's hub won't be looking at the parade light towers, but at the castle, nearby buildings, and the new brown walkway lights

The light towers in DL also stick up above the trees, since they also have small trees in their hub; they just look bigger compared to the park's scale

Even when they're in the frame with the castle, the lights are easy to overlook

Even along Matterhorn Way, the lighting rigs are visible all day (just to the left of the last flag)

And if you want parade lights that are actually large and obtrusive, you still need to look no further than DL, where these structures are large enough to have their own refurbishment towers built around them

The retractable lights on the roofs of Main Street are great (though the changes to the tops of the buildings leaves something to be desired) but the rest of the parade route has very visible lighting. It seems like some people here think that only WDW makes these sorts of decisions, but it's really standard practice (TDL doesn't have parade route lights, since they only run Dreamlights after dark)

I don't know when you booked, but the hub refurb was announced about a year ago. I'll grant you that reservation booking agents are seldom in the loop when it comes to park operation, but there are other sources of info (like this website and others).
when i was there last year in june and august i knew about the refurb...saw it for myself. but im new to THIS site (which i love btw), so if u dont know about this site youre not in the know! I wanna know from Disney themselves when booking whats still under refurb....no one appreciates an isore when they are on vaca in Disney with the whole family no less.

Is this really all it takes to ruin your Disney experience? If it is then I can't imagine you have ever done a Disney trip when something didn't ruin it.
ok let me set this up, lol.....my parents are old at this point, and will most likely be there last trip to Disney...this will actually be there 3rd trip there. last time my mom was there they were building EPCOT...LMAO. so ive just always wanted this trip to be extra special....thats why i find it so upsetting that when i go this hub/castle will still look like a disaster. by all means, my trips are always perfect!!! im in love/obsessed with WDW....been there 3 times in past 9 months.

I'm not trying to be nasty, but if you ask if there are refurbs, on intrusions for your pics, won't they tell. I've never asked, so I have no clue.

I understand, I'm getting to that age, when I never know if this is going to be my last trip, I just avoid the things that get in my way. (By the way, my brother passed at 44, so none of us really know how many times we have.

No
I'll take anytime I can get to Disney as a win, can't believe the construction is what deters you away... Crowds, I totally get not wanting to go when the crowds are thick, that right there will make me plan around certain dates but construction, haha that's been a constant for decades with Disney Parks.

Disney is reluctant to tell you anything specific about those sort of schedules in advance because they change so often. What if they told you something would be coming out of refurb on a specific date and something caused it to run longer. If you had changed your vacation plans to arrive after they told you the refurb would be done and it's not, you'd be just as upset and some would say they lied. It's a Catch-22 situation for them so with rare exception they don't like to share that information in advance when guests are planning vacations. There are certainly exception scenarios to that but it's the general rule that they won't tell you in advance.

i know ur not being nasty bud!!! just inquisitive like me
I just thought of something that might make you feel better, if things aren't perfect ( I had a big disappointment my last trip) and was really angry at the time, but time passes, and if you love Disney it's hard to be angry long. That was an aside, I do tend to be long winded sometimes:) Any way, back to making you feel better...I took my parents for their last trip to Disney, and many things went wrong, and I felt really bad, until they thanked me over and over for the trip. They talked about how much they enjoyed riding the different boats seeing the flowers, and walking around Epcot. I'm their age now, and I could miss magic kingdom, except seeing the new parts, as the crowds are really big. I much prefer a nice meal, and evening boat ride or just sitting at the resort talking to my parents. They have long since passed and I still remember our last time at Disney together. Just be sure to take lots of pictures of your Mom and Dad, what ever you are doing....Best luck to you.
