It will be very difficult to fully replace it.
However if they could do it that would not mean at all goodbye to the horse-drawn trolley cars:)

(this last one is not mine)
I don't think he was referencing the actual ability to use bricks and the tracks. The streetcar is already in very limited use, nowhere near enough to justify the cost of working around it if the entire road is being replace with a different material.

Looks great, but jeez, still feels like it's taking forever. Hopefully these sections of the project will wrap up soon.

The good news is that it would seem - from several posters that spoke to the latter stages of this project - that the greenery part of this should not take long at all. Heck, they are already starting to plant rather mature trees. Once the walkways take off, I am certain it won't be too much longer. We are going March 4th this year and have FP for both Wishes and the FoF parade in the new sections.

EDIT: As an add on, we typically do not reserve FPs for these types of events, but I will be visiting on this trip with an immobilizer on my right arm. As a result, there are a lot of rides I can't go on, so we decided to take a somewhat tamer trip for our 5 days this March.

I would like to complain about the loss of trees and vegetation in the Hub as well. All the trees use to be so beautiful. But, I can't complain because I also really enjoy the light and fireworks shows on and around the castle. Let's not forget that the Hub was never intended to be used as a "stadium" but that is exactly what it has become. The fix for the trees would be to remove the shows and build a proper stadium for them like Fantasmic, but then they would not have the appeal they do with the castle in the background (which is a huge part of their advertising and they would never change it). So unless they learn to make retractable trees and vegetation I have to come to a crossings and regrettably say bye bye trees.

UGH my poor castle...i hope my pix dont end up looking like ****
Pretty sure you'll be fine.
The walls Disney has been putting up have been fairly good for keeping the average eye and photos away from viewing the construction. The pictures we have presented to us here are from those peeking over/through and around the walls or from vantage points where they could not block the view (Tomrrowland terrace).

Pics I took late Monday afternoon. Posted on my blog: http://www.thefloridaproject.com/blog/2015/02/04/look-at-magic-kingdom-hub-construction/

Tomorrowland side of the drained moat. (You can also see the rose gardens without the swan boat dock that was removed last year.)

ETA: By the way, the Hub area is really LOW lighting right now because of the construction. The entire Tomorrowland side of the hub is dark at night now. The lamps are turned off behind the walls making it very unbalanced and low, low lighting.

I think what they meant by saying if we got all bricks on Main Street they meant they WOULDN'T replace the tracks, so then there would be no trolley. Not that having bricks would prevent this. TDO would likely not replace the track so they don't have to run the trolley.
