It shouldn't be more than two-three months (Of Course in Disney Time that could mean 6), the new planters will look much better than the old planters.
Not doubting you at all, Aly San San, but I'm actually impressed that they would pour concrete with, what I assume, is a plan to just rip it out again and add new planters. Or will the planters sit atop the concrete, just wondering how the irrigation, and I assume lighting and other electrical would get into the planters?

They pour concrete just to rip it out again all of the time during these projects. It's been done in several other areas around the hub during this project, all over disney springs, and was even done recently in Frontierland where they were replacing wood near the river.

concrete is cheap, and once cured relatively impervious to anything a guest can throw at it; on the other hand, had they put grass in as temporary, horticulture would be replacing it nightly

Hmmm! It looks like a temporary cover for a spot that was earth and vegetation. If they don't cover that people will be tracking mud everywhere when it rains. No need to panic about that yet. Someone already said, why not wait until they are finished before we assume what is going to happen. You know what happens when we assume right?

When you say temporary....do you mean that the existing red concrete will be dyed or painted the anticipated brown we see in the mockups? or will it all be removed again---and replaced with a brown concrete?
It all should be replaced to match what is going in currently.
Once the project is complete there will be no more viewing on the grass eliminating the need for the fake grass that was discussed for the Rose Garden. I haven't heard anything about using anything but real grass.
Yup. Final should all be real.

Plus, they hired a bunch of professional tree murderers in Canada. Makes you think, doesn't it?
I honestly don't think more than one of those guys knows* how to properly fell a tree. (* without using the wiki)

Disney is replanting though... here's to holding my breath.
