Slow getting this out but - from earlier this month:

I wonder if the 2nd half of this refurb will take as long as this first half. I was thinking that perhaps not quite as long due to the fact that that faux bridge work and the adjustment to the shape of the moat shoreline both had to be done as part of this. Then again, the next half of this project has them constructing those smaller castle turrets apart from the castle. I can't even recall what the timeline is for this project. Is it fall of 2015?

Castle turrets and the other half I believe are at the same time but different timetables.

I wonder if Plaza will get more seating gauging from this picture. Looks like a second row can be added.

I wouldn't be surprised if Plaza get an outdoor seating area rivaling Casey's. Plus, remember there used to be additional seating down by the moat that has been lost with this redesign.

The existing gazebo demolition will be an interesting one given the amount of show hardware in both of them.

Unless they're staying. I'm receiving conflicting information. Have you heard anything either way?

Looks like it will mirror the seating area that Casey's has. Not sure what the the concrete in the middle of what would be the seating area is but take a look at the curved wall by the tree on Main Street. Looks to create a similar size path to that of the one on Casey's side of Main Street.

Help me out with figuring out this picture. I am having a difficult time figuring out what will be happening with the Moat or the River (whatever) that I can see on the right side of the picture. Is it going to connect anyplace and if so, where?

The blue areas I filled in will be water when done. There is a culvert pipe that connects the two under Main Street when done from tomorrow land side to adventureland/ vice versa.

Thanks. So it really doesn't appear to surround the castle anymore or be one continuous "river". What a shame just so more people can stand there and look up at the sky to watch the fireworks. I guess it's mostly for them to be able to see the projections on the castle, but, still!

The most never actually surrounded the castle.

I know, but it did create more of an illusion than it will now. Now it looks like the end of a river and a pond a few hundred yards away. At least that is what the picture looks like, I will reserve final judgment until after it is completed and I actually see it. Even today, Disney sometimes surprises us.

The water at Magic Kingdom hub area is still one continuous river. Starting at the blue area under the Tomorrowland bridge, it continues in green off the right side of the photo to the Fantasyland bridge, then in front of the castle (hidden by trees), under the castle bridge, then exits the top of the photo as currently exists to the Liberty Square bridges, then continues under the Adventureland bridge, which connects to the waterway on the side of the Crystal Palace and into the Jungle Cruise. From the Adventureland bridge, as currently exists, the river appears at the top left of the photo to the bridge linking to the Crystal Palace plaza, and from under that bridge is colored blue again at the left side of the hub. As stated previously, there is a long culvert under the hub at Main Street which connects the two blue areas. Therefore, the river is still continuous....just hidden by the long culvert and trees in this photo. Clear as mud?

I understand that but from the angle of the photo it just seems to me to be less obvious. That's why I said I'll wait until it is completed before I really judge it. It might not be an issue at all. I hope not.

Anyone know what they did under the existing Main Street bridge? Did they just backfill it with sand/soil?
