Just a common sewer pipe to keep the water circulating.Anyone know what the did under the existing Main Street bridge? Did they just backfill it with sand/soil?

I wonder if the 2nd half of this refurb will take as long as this first half. I was thinking that perhaps not quite as long due to the fact that that faux bridge work and the adjustment to the shape of the moat shoreline both had to be done as part of this. Then again, the next half of this project has them constructing those smaller castle turrets apart from the castle. I can't even recall what the timeline is for this project. Is it fall of 2015?
I understand that but from the angle of the photo it just seems to me to be less obvious. That's why I said I'll wait until it is completed before I really judge it. It might not be an issue at all. I hope not.
This was a very necessary expansion.Thanks. So it really doesn't appear to surround the castle anymore or be one continuous "river". What a shame just so more people can stand there and look up at the sky to watch the fireworks. I guess it's mostly for them to be able to see the projections on the castle, but, still!
Yea, I suppose your right. I am making some judgments based on my own preferences. I would rather have a bunch of full trees with seating areas then a bunch of projections on a plastic castle. To me it's a shame, to others it's a blessing. My judgment comment was concerning what they were doing with the River of America. I still don't know what it will end up looking like, so I am reserving judgment. I already know how I feel about the wide open space of the hub.You described it as "a shame". I'd say you've already made some thorough judgments based on your imaginary pre-conceived notions.
what are you talking about, the rivers of america is in Liberty square, not around the hubYea, I suppose your right. I am making some judgments based on my own preferences. Based on everything Disney has shown us there WILL be trees and seating areas. As well as new fountains. It should look really nice and also ease congestion quite a bit.Yea, I suppose your right. And you keep saying this is to see the castle better, but that's actually not exactly right. The point is for the inner ring to be a viewing area for that stuff and block views of the castle with trees in the outer ring to make that more of a walk way.
This move is all about easing congestion in the hub, nothing to do with allowing people to see the castle better.
The concrete you're referring to is actually a half wall. On the Casey's side, the seating is separated by the half wall (with decorative rail), a small section of mulch, then another curb with railing, then the walkway. The Plaza side has yet to receive the curbing, which will be a few feet from that concrete wall that is now exposed. You can't see the wall on the Casey's side, as the trees and umbrella's are obstructing it, but indeed, it looks to be a mirror seating section to Casey's.Looks like it will mirror the seating area that Casey's has. Not sure what the the concrete in the middle of what would be the seating area is but take a look at the curved wall by the tree on Main Street. Looks to create a similar size path to that of the one on Casey's side of Main Street.
Sorry, I got confused about that. What do you know... I am fallible.what are you talking about, the rivers of america is in Liberty square, not around the hub
Yes, I'm sure it will be a wonderful thing. I just don't like what I have seen SO FAR. When it is done I might like it better. What I see (or imagine) right now, I am disappointed. This isn't a matter of what might or might not be needed, it is a matter of what I like or don't like. VERY impressive. It looks like they're nearly done with the bottom half... and then all they'll need to do is add in the paths on the top half? I don't think there are very many more infrastructure changes to come, are there, beyond the castle turrets?
What New Years broadcast? Where is anyone showing anything from the parks? For the new years broadcast, they are doing a good job of keeping the cameras off the construction area.

Oh, and there was no Frozen in it.
Remind me again why Fantasy in the Sky doesn't just air every night?
(And you can see the new hub lights flash on once the pyro is over. LOL)
