Main Street Fountain Removal

This fountain by the First Aid area off of Main Street has been removed. Another site speculates that this might be to make room for another bypass, but I don't know if I believe that part.

if I remember correctly it was removed temporarily during the hub expansion project a couple years ago. So it's possible this too is just temporary and related to some nearby project. I know a major refurb for first aid was scheduled for last year but later delayed.

Man I will be so ed if this gets removed and turned into a bypass. First it was a nice quit area to rest/my wife to brestfeed. Second this past September we sat there till the fireworks crowds died down and we could walk out. It was like no one even knew it was there.I hope that site is wrong like it always is!

First off is that any of your business? Second the first aid is also the child care center so I'm sure we where not the only ones to use a quite place sit out of the sun with a child or used it to feed our child.

I love chilling in this section while the hordes empty out of the park at closing time. Little known fact, the water fountain [that you're supposed to drink from] has deliciously cold water that doesn't taste like feet.

I'm thinking this is probably a temporary removal to facilitate a temporary bypass in that area while the new threater is constructed on the east side.

Main Street West has been used as a "temporary" bypass ever since HEA debuted. Currently it is not at all themed, but commonly used. Most likely this is to facilitate easier use of that temporary bypass.

In 2015 they were doing tests with that side, having it open nightly to gain data on if a bypass on that side was needed and how plausible one would be. From what I was told, it was a backburner project at the time, but they needed the data if they were ever to move forward.

Now, i'm not saying that the two things are related, but it's possible. When we would test that side, the fountain was always the biggest issue for crowd flow as it's smack dab in the way of getting to the bypass.

They stage the parade there, so they would need to block that from view. I spent many a days backstage watching them set up the DEP back there.

It is hilarious because not long ago this fountain became a planter for a good few months and no seemed to bat an eye. Now that is potentially being removed for a short time again, the calls for torches and pitchforks arise. Hmm

I see some mild disappointment, but nothing I would call "torches and pitchforks".

Yeah that would be, and if a night Parade does come back they don't have a very large window to have it open before they need it closed to roll the parade into position.
