I read somewhere (WDW blog maybe?) That MSEP will run for 18-24m. What they didn't specify was if it was an ADDITIONAL or includes previous time served

MSEP will run for a couple of years, at least. That is my best guess.

The mere posing of the OP's original question eludes to the Main Street Electrical Parade somehow being inferior to Spectromagic. Everyone's in a rush to get the MSEP off of Main street while it's only been here for 6 months.

I have to agree! I love Spectro, and up until this Past September have never seen MSEP...So September came and I was esatic that it would still be there Well that first nite of our trip we seen it for the first time with our girls...Yeah I'm such a moosh ball..I cried..I loved it!!! My girls loved it as well, in fact we made it a point of going back to the MK every nite they showed it!! Which I know it may be bad but with spectro we kinda got to the point if we seen it during our trip great, if not no big.. I hope MSEP stays for a while...Don;t get me wrong love Spectro..but its a nice change!!!

Yeah we drove north to Orlando for the June 6th official opening night of MSEP! Thrilled that when my brother and their family from Michigan travels here to Florida for the week after Thanksgiving that they will get to experience this childhood favorite of mine! Yeah I cried too when I see it....4 times now since June already!

Well said yet again! Why the hate towards MSEP? We know it won't be permanent, so why not let us MSEP fans revel in all its glory, as you SpectroMagic people have done when it came back in 2001!
What a lovely trip experience! I'm so glad you liked MSEP as a first time viewer in 2010. I get all emotional too as soon as the fanfare opens along with "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls!" Who'da thunk, a 23-year old teacher getting all teary eyed watching a silly light parade :lol:
I enjoy SpectroMagic as much as the next person, but to me, MSEP embodies everything that the Magic Kingdom and Disney World in general are all about. It's my favorite attraction of all time!!!! (And I grew up watching SpectroMagic).I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I agree, it's a lovely change. They should pretty much rotate the light parades every few years.
But to OP. Everyone here is right, 18 to 24 months is how long Main Street Electrical Parade is rumored to be in WDW. At which point, maybe we can get a really well-refurbished SpectroMagic?? It desperately needs it....(and a new soundtrack. Baroque Hoedown anyone? :lookaroun)

Spectro Rules, MSEP is way inferior, IMO.
Here's a unique thought. Return the "Magic" to the Magic Kingdom and ship MSEP to somewhere else (DHS, maybe since so much is closed for refurb). Maybe the croissant crowd would like MSEP.
Hate MSEP is not the sentiment. MSEP is too simplistic and bush league.
Spectro is just so much better and belongs in MK.

Wow, if you want to state your opinion then thats fine, but what you're doing is trolling. You're intentionally posting inflammatory comments to try and irritate fans of MSEP and start a flame war.
MSEP is a classic parade that many of us enjoyed as kids, which is why Disney brought it back to WDW because it brings back fond memories of our childhood. If you don't like it then you're fully entitled to that opinion, but don't troll by tossing insults to get people riled up.

Yup this troll pops up in every thread about MSEP, surprised they didn't bust out their juvenile go to quote "MSEP drools, Spectro rules!". For their sake I hope they're no older than 11.
