A non-certificate moment
I joined this board just to tell this story :animwink:
On our first trip to WDW in April 2004 we were the last ones to ride Pirates one night. We didn't know the ride was not like the Disneyland version where the boats return to the boarding point and we were puzzled when the CM wouldn't take our camera to take a photo of us and return the camera to us at the end of the ride. We were more puzzled when he asked us to take a set of keys and some kind of passcard/key with us to "the guy at the end". We took the keys and rode our spookiest ride on Pirates ever, there was not a single person in front or behind us and with all the empty boats around us we felt like we were in a true ghost town.
At the end of the ride, we met another CM and gave him the keys and he thankd us and wished us a good night.
Now, we didn't get a certificate or anything, but the ride was great, and the fact that the CMs trusted us was what made it "magic". OK, if you dig into the situation, we really couldn't do much with a set of keys, but you never know - we could have been crazy guests who wanted a unique collector's item and kept the keys and gotten the guys into trouble.
It's hard to explain, but I always smile when I think about that (I guess it's flattering to know people don't view you as a thief or axe-murderer) and I guess any moment that makes you do that is a magic moment.
