Hello, everyone. I was sent an email this morning asking for extras on thursday morning at the MK, supposedly for a "PR event". Anyone know what this could be?

Where and when will this be??? Thats our first day in Disney and we would LOVE to be a part of it!!

I got an email back telling me I was accepted. There are going to be 29 extras, and it's at 7:00 am. It might just be a commercial or something, I don't know. Just thought I should go and see what's up.

Maybe they'll announce Journey to the Center of Beastly Kingdomme with Figment and the re-opened Adventurer's Club!!!

:lookaroun

That sounds logical.

Glad to hear there will be an insider there for the event. Out of curiosity how do you get on the extras list?

Relax, People. They are just preparing for my arrival later in the day. It will be this way each day until my departure on the 17th.

If they do announce a dining plan called 'YUM Kippur' they would DEFINITELY save a lot of money......since it is a fasting holiday! :)

I highly doubt it is a PR announcement since they only need 29 "extras." Sounds more like a commercial. I also know that the Rachel Ray show will be taping this weekend in a couple of places (without Rachel though). So maybe it should be "YUMMO Kippur!"

I can see it now:

Oct. 9, 2008
Lake Buena Vista, Fl
Today Disney announced a new Dining Plan to cater to its Jewish guests. The new plan will be called "Yum Kippur" and will recognize the traditional fasting holiday. Disney spokespeople have indicated that this Dining Plan, which offers a 25% discount off of the regular Disney Dining Plan, will "benefit both guests and the Resort."

No doubt another "special" announcement concerning the "best kept secret" about DVC or some other lame thing like that.

I was beginning to wonder about that myself. We're getting close to crunch time on that one.

What if the SM refurb is just a hoax generated by some "planted" leaks... and there will be no such thing?? And Disney management was getting their jollies by seeing the talk-up surrounding the false rumors??

It honestly keeps looking more like this as time goes on. Don't be surprised to see a drastically shorter refurb than what you expected. Especially if Martin and Lee are right...which they usually are.

Well, it wasn't anything juicy. Sorry guys.

I still really don't know what it was. There was an actress pretending to be a reporter talking about a celebration so huge that disney "even rewrote the famous mickey mouse march!" Mickey was talking about a "very special guest of honor". And somewhere in all this, Goofy says this line: "If Bob Iger doesn't show up, can I be in the song?"

:confused::confused::confused:

And the extras had to pretend to watch a parade. For six hours.
I was going to ask what it all was about, but I was so tired I just took off when we were done. Overall, sort of a strange experience. Sorry again that it wasn't anything good.

Odd ... even for Disney.

It could be that some of this shows up in the Christmas Day parade on TV, which doesn't really take place on Christmas Day and is a fabricated conglomeration of individual segments.
