Magic Kingdom Bus Loop expansion

if they are moving to the new articulated buses, aren't they longer and therefore need more room between the stops? So wouldn't adding another loop just allow them to spread out?

They are moving the transfer buses at the MK. Disney is configuring this loop differently to also accommodate those double long buses that Disney has on order for the mega crowded resorts, adding AoA and transfer buses into the mix up there.

Once they move the transfer buses out of TTC hopefully they will deal with the TTC area. It is slummy.

TTC -- when was it last really used as a transportation center? Too often you have to go to another location to get from Hotel to Hotel (usually Downtown Disney). A transportation center should offer transport to any location on property.... maybe management should change the name to Poly' transportation site... since it is so close to the Poly Resort.

As far as I know TTC is still the hub to transfer to other parks. I used it on my last trip to transfer to DHS. Time consuming, seedy but operational.

I've always felt the TTC should be moved to the grassy central area of the MK parking lot. They could still keep many of those trees and theme it up nicely with some trees and water features. Perhaps then the trams wouldn't be needed. Use the old TTC land for Poly DVC expansion.

And move all of the monorail lines?

If you want a DVC at poly, just go with this:

I've thought about the same thing. It just seems a bit much for the average guest to have to board a tram, then transfer to a monorail or ferry boat to get to the front gate of MK. But then, with the size of the MK parking lot, even if the monorail entrance was on the same side of the road, they would still need trams to get from the back/far sides. Maybe if the Monorail station were in the middle of the parking lot, it might eliminate some of the trams.

Disney is doing a bit of the return to yesteryear. Originally there was green everywhere, great shade. If you look back at old photo's the trees on Main St., around the castle, it had a warm feel with all the cherry trees before they chopped them all down and created the concrete jungle look laid before the castle, Fantasy land had so many trees.

TTC is the worst concrete land. If Disney had to do it all over again doubt they would ever do what they did with the bay between parking and the park. Lessons learned, they didn't duplicate the necessity of transportation hopping in the subsequent parks.

My guess if they build DVC's at Poly (and I think they will) they will duplicate what they did at the Contemporary and bulldoze some of the existing resort buildings and build DVC's similar in style to the ones in Hawaii.

That's not a terrible idea, in fact it's pretty good, and similar to what was originally planned for Poly. I seem to remember seeing somewhere, some original concept art for the Poly that include a main building that was a multi-story tower.

Another thought would be to build the stilt houses or something similar, around Discovery Island. They would also build a main building, swimming pool and perhaps other rooms on the island, but the stilt homes, like those above, would extend from the island out over the water.

I believe, if I remember correctly, there were issues with housing people on an island without road access for police and fire/EMTs.

That should do a nice job of eliminating the appeal of that beach.

Well it would block the view of MK, but it would create a somewhat secluded feel. Just a blue sky idea.

With where DI is located, I could see that issue. They could use Beachcomber's Island as a resort, it is close to GF's shoreline. GF is also much close to transportation than the dock at FW.

That is also a possibility. You could have the three long houses demoed and create a crescent shaped building covering the footprints of those longhouses and the buildings I have on my concept.
