As it stands they won’t.

DHS shows need more close proximity pyro added to them in order to compensate for no aerial shells, similar to how DLP does it.

Or they could do a crazy thing and put the pyro launch in line over the Chinese Theater so it can be viewed from down Hollywood Blvd instead of being awkwardly off to the right side.

Should we expect to hear, whatever the heck the dates in July are, this week? Next week?

Here I had a hunch on the 19th 🤣… it’s the only date so far completely blocked out for this month, aside from APs.

There’s reason why they didn’t and can’t… NFPA 1123 provides code for fireworks displays and has a table of distances for a safety radius/fall-out zone.

Having an aerial shoot site with multiple fronts like the shoot site for HS that’s off to the right in the photo and maintaining the required safety distances would be nearly impossible to get one lined up directly with the Chinese Theater unless it’s further back which increases distance and would also interfere with the show perspective quite a bit.

Is that big brown turd out there just the excavated dirt from the star wars hotel? Seems like thst would have been a better spot

If they bring back fireworks in June, it would be really sad to see them not do a proper 4th of July show. Perspective is important, a lot of people had a really rough year and a half, so there are far more important things in life. However, it would bring so much joy to their guests who all shared that pain over the last 18 months. Anyways, whatever. I guess they'll do what they can.
I mean, I would just be really really happy for them to bring back ANY fireworks in time for July 4th (I’m going to DW July 9th). Theydon’t need to be special, even seeing HEA would be special at this point.

You may be right, but what a waste to have the lights of Pandora, that nobody will be able to see...
What a waste to have a high quality signature restaurant in Tiffins, that nobody can really enjoy for dinner. (closed for late dinner. And an early dinner is a bit pointless if you can't enjoy the park after dinner).

I actually really like the vibe of AK in the evenings - when they had DHS and other musical acts, and it wasn't so hot. Just grab a beverage and wander.

Wasn't really a ton to "do" but I liked just sort of chilling there late

WDW can legally, by FL law, flood the parks with as many guests as they can cram in there and make tons more money. But they don't because they're voluntarily following COVID protocols. They're losing money by doing that. And yet, some geniuses claim this is a sign of cost cutting.

Fix your logic circuits.
To be fair, there are a few amenities within WDW resorts at the moment that are being toted as “safety measures” wherein it really seems that it’s more about keeping costs low. Mousekeeping for one. We don’t need to get into the specifics as to what’s going on with that, but Disney isn’t fooling anyone with the “safety measures” attributed to not cleaning their resort rooms at the moment. There is no excuse at this point in the pandemic for this to carry on, yet I don’t see that it has improved. For the price of a Disney vacation they need to restore many many more areas that are truly lacking. So from that perspective, I can understand why some might feel that the fireworks show hiatus continuing on thru the summer months might be more of the same. However I can also see the perspective of the insiders insistence on why that isn’t the case here

What? Personally, I’m thinking they’ll announce next week. Until then you’ll just have to trust your eyes as they gear the parks up (in plain sight) to host fireworks.
