Only thing they can do at this point is focus on entertainment (If doable by the fall). I think it’s safe to say they will be banking on the “return” of pre covid entertainment, rather than what could’ve been... with the exception of maaybe the Taco nighttime spectacular.

Oh, my God...the cupcakes will bring tears to your eyes. Just beautiful. I will take so many selfies. I look hot next to anything blue.

What about the Candlelight Processional? Does that have a chance of returning next Christmas season?

sorry, this was likely the wrong thread to post that.

Cupcakes and dance parties - The hallmarks of any Iger/Chapek-era anniversary celebration!
Here we have some WDI play testing:

Well this could open up the possibilities to at least one thing in particular we’ve been going back and forth on for awhile, with letting WDW have...
Although I’m sure this technically has nothing to do with it lol, but it sure came to mind! :)

Letting WDW have what? I apologize if it’s obvious, just not ringing a bell for me.

Pain the night parade, is my guess.
This article and the general consensus seems to suggest that Disney, much like HP Enterprise, Tesla etc, is considering a move out of the "Golden State" to a more tax/business-friendly state, in this case, Florida.

It's not as easy for Disney, though. They have a historic studio lot where their HQ is, but there's many auxiliary office buildings in the area surrounding Burbank they can move to Florida with no fuss.

I still say the Disney will celebrate the 50th when its convenient to them. The actual anniversary isn't until October anyway, so what's a couple months delay until 2022?

They started HKDL's 15th two months late, only to have the park close a week later. I think they're learning to be flexible with these things.

In these uncertain times, it's understandable....but....

I would LIKE to hope they will do something special on the actual 50th date....on October 1st, 2021....then just pass out 'free' cupcakes or pinback buttons.
They had better do some kind of acknowledgement as this is a major milestone.
Not doing so would be quite disappointing, and from a certain point of view disrespectful to the long history WDW has had.

Oh and It's official -
I will be there on the day to witness whatever happens.
All have now been forewarned....as i know you are all reading / watching...( waves ).

Beware the wrath of the dragon if 'nothing' happens on the actual day.

And the movie production industry in general leaving California...

I think the fact that they own a lot of land in Florida and have a much more favorable relationship with the state government wouldn’t hurt efforts to put more services in Florida. The Mouse is a titan in Florida but one among many in LA.
