Oh I'm sure I'll be the brunt of many a family joke, but this girl is soooooo undeserving!
You really have to see the things she's registered for! The day I pay $129 for a sugar bowl! (and that's one of the cheaper things). Then her parents had the nerve to bring the list with them to my kids' graduation party, so people could check off what they planned to get! :fork:
'Oh, hon, I was in NO way comparing you to her. I agree what they did is extremely tacky. A lot of people are like that, unfortunately. Care more about stuff than how they treat others. :brick: I think your gift is charming, and if they don't have the manners to be gracious, it is truly THEIR loss.

Actually the gift looks much better than what I had thought it would. I potted some herbs to but inside, and picked up a couple of cook books to go with it, and it actually looks pretty good. She'll hate it ofcourse, but that was basically the plan! :drevil:

Let me tell you about my family bridal shower - it has become the stuff of legends, because of one of my aunts. She is an EXTREMELY cheap person, and it shows. She got me a coaster set that was designed like a pool table, with the coasters in the sides of it, about 8"x10". Looked like it had been in someone's attic for about 10 years. Her DIL gave me a candy dish - it was cracked. Actually, we think my aunt bought it and put her DIL's name on it. Now, knowing the character of said aunt, it didn't really bother me. I pitched the pool table and kept the coasters, and threw the dish away. But my other aunts.....woo boy. Provided fodder for them for weeks! :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:
So, when things get intense today, just think of my pool table coaster set. :animwink:
My aunt gave my sister a coffee pot for her wedding.

  Sounds great to me- I'll always take new cookbooks....or is it beneath her to actually do anything as low as cooking and cleaning? :lookaroun
