Magic Friends...Remembering Bonny

Y'know what's sad? When Steph first said something, my first thought was "not again" - I can't imagine what New Yorkers first thought. :(
That was my very first thought as well. Followed by the thought that DH was supposed to be flying back from Boston...well as we speak. As luck would have it, earlier today he thought he lost his license so he called the travel agent and cancelled his flight and got a train ticket instead. Ended up finding his license but what a lucky mistake!

Just crossed the Hudson and couldn't see anything except emergency vehicles

And Jo...don't be afraid to fly...these kinds of things are very minor in the grand scheme of things. They don't happen a lot, but when they do, it is a big deal. But the percentages are very small of a plane going down.

Too late. I've always been afraid of flying though. I am so happy we're driving down to FL this summer.

Off to put the finishing touches on dinner.
Later!

Bye Dot!

Hi Danny!
And yes...this pilot knew what he was doing. He maintained altitude for as long as he could, so the landing was as soft as it could be.

And was able to aim for the water instead of the city. This wouldve been a whole different story if he hadn't been able to control it to the water. The Hudson isn't that wide, this pilot should be totally commended

Agreed - just to be able to not panic is amazing to me. Although this will be added to my DH's arsenal of 'see why I don't fly' stories.

It's such a small number though of planes that go down...I don't get that rational when literally thousands and thousands go off without a hitch. It's just we only hear about the bad.

Who would have guessed that I could be distracted for the better part of the day by The Art and Flair of Mary Blair. I never realized how amazing her work was. :)

It has more to do with being in the air than the conveyance though. When you're terrified of heights, you're not rational about it. Like me and snakes...we have maybe a couple in Ohio that are poisonous, but I would hyperventilate around a garter snake, and as you all know, I have. Not rational, but there it is.
Not to mention that I'm sure the stats for deer hitting cars is far greater than birds being sucked into airplane engines, still won't make DH feel any more comfortable with the idea. I've accepted that's the way it is.

I hate Algebra II with a very firey passion.

Slope and standard form of the aforementioned can go jump off a cliff.

That is all.

Continue.

My Algebra II teacher makes me so upset. He isn't even a real teacher. The only reason he works at the school is so he can be the basketball coach. He pretends to be a math teacher, but really all he does is coach basketball.

We should start an Algebra II support group. I do not enjoy it, at all. :brick:

On a happy note, dinner time. :D TTFN.

I had a History teacher like that once...only he was wrestling obsessed. :brick:
No...I'm with you...it's a love/hate thing.
You can't just like it.
I don't think it's possible.
It's love or hate.
