I'm watching CNN live online....it was a controlled landing, so the plane's intact...*prays they can get everyone out*
Jenny, can you tell where in the Hudson it is? I leave work in 1/2 hour and have to cross the Hudson to get home (via Lincoln Tunnel) and am just curious if it's close enough to where it will be jammed with emergency crews. None of the websites are giving any locations.

It's hard to say - they're focused solely on the water and the ferries surrounding it - still looking.....

First responders reported to the 42nd St pier.
But they're also saying the plane is moving in the river as they're getting people off.
They just said everyone has been rescued.

Oh thank goodness!!!

Hmmm, Lincoln Tunnel is right at 42nd Street. Oh well, I'll get home eventually. :)

They're talking to a passenger right now - he says he believes everyone has gotten off. Thank God!

I imagine the entire area will be a mess for sometime.
They're saying that birds were sucked into an engine, possibly both, and the pilot came in over the river from Jersey and landed in the river. This could have been a much bigger catstrophe.

We just switched to CNN and they just showed a great shot of passengers standing on a wing of the plane in the river. The wing is submerged and they appear to be standing on water. Can you imagine how cold that must be?

Steph, they said the plane is really moving swiftly in the water.
From 50 something Street down into the 20s now.
The reporter says it's moving so fast she thinks it might be being towed.

Y'know what's sad? When Steph first said something, my first thought was "not again" - I can't imagine what New Yorkers first thought. :(
