Mad Tea Party closing for refurbishment

I really lucked out on this one we will be there the weekend before. Gotta make sure i get alot of pics for memories of the old roof. Its like the early 90's there all over agian with all the refurbs and whatnot. Now if we could only get a Mr toads and a Dreamflight.

Who said anything about a new roof? Steve just said he was still trying to figure out what the refurbishment was for.

I won't be at WDW during this refurbishment, but I understand that refurbishments have to happen. Last time I was in WDW was during the HM refurbishment. I was bummed about it, but I didn't let it ruin my trip. I'm sure everyone's trip will be just as great as it would normally be even if Mad Tea Party is closed.

Does anyone have a picture of the current top? When I google all I get are actual pictures of the cups themselves, not what is so horrible about the current roof :) Thank you!

I highly doubt a 2-week closure is for installation of a new roof. That kind of project would take Disney longer than two weeks. 2 weeks is more of the time scale that would allow for some mechanical work.

Might I suggest Expedition Everest on a full stomach

No if you really want to get sick, eat France in Epcot and then ride Mission Space Orange. Sickness to the max lol.

I hope this ride loses it's roof. It looks so cool at Dl at night. But if the roof must stay make it like DLP's.

I only hope I don't see Johhny Depp's face anywhere near this ride.

Same for me (45 days before my trip and this is one of my daughters's favorites with IASW:brick:). I am extremely disappointed with the attitude of Disney. Ultimately, I find it disingenuous to modify the offer of attractions within the period of 45 days while the final payment is made. I understand that this can happen in cases of force majeure which is obviously not the case here. I can not figure why a company of the size of Disney is not even able to announce the refurbishment of an attraction in a better delay than 39 days!! Disney calls us guests, but he should remember that we are primarily CUSTOMERS.:fork::mad:
Would you have canceled you trip or booked for after this attraction was open for business again? Just curious. I know you have pleaded you case and other have retorted and I agree with them. Ill say that when we book, you just hold your breath. We booked 6 months out. 45 days wouldnt have helped us at all nor would I have rescheduled.

Wow, this is awesome!

If anyone hasn't seen it, here's the BEAUTIFUL DLP ride

That's how I feel...especially if you have to book flights for your trip, then it really doesn't matter when Disney decides to announce these projects. Whenever you go to Disney, something is likely to be closed.
Did you forget about the month of October? :animwink:

Oops...so 6 weeks it is, then, my bad. I suppose they could do a new roof in that time if they wanted.
