Okay....I am editing this because I suppose I am revealing a little of the movie here, so in an effort not to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it yet or has no idea about Lotso, here's my official warning.....

So now that TS3 is out, how many times do you figure Lotso got kicked in the shin at HS today for trying to kill Woody? To be honest, I didn't know he was a bad guy before seeing the movie! And to think, I gave that big purple bear a hug a few weeks ago....:p

The fact that you don't know he's a bad guy until you watch the movie is...kind of the point. :lookaroun

Not to be a bad guy, but this thread really should have something like TOY STORY SPOILERS in the title. At the very least, the original post should be edited with the text scrolled down a bit and a spoiler alert put up top. :)

Yep... They've totally ruined the movie for me now...

I suppose there's no point in seeing it now! :(

Lotso being a bad guy was one of the biggest surprises when I saw the movie. I would love to kick him in the shin...he really is the biggest "dee eye see kay" in the entire saga. I hate him. I really do. I found myself wanting to punt him during the movie last night.
 But he's just a character. And he got what he deserved. So maybe I'll be kind to him when I see him next week.
Oh p.s. there are spoilers in the above paragraphs :D How's that for your warning?

I kinda figured he was gonna be evil. I remember reading some people here speculating that, and then I remember how stinky pete was a "good guy" at first but he turned out to be evil too. But with that said, yes, I wish they would have let his behind get ripped to shreds after what he did. But it help make way for a traumatic but epic ending.

Dang, Toy story 3 was the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the movie already knowing that Lotso was bad, but I assumed he was going to turn good. And just when the movie makes you think he has become good... he turns and does something even MORE evil!

The fact that they did this instead of having him convert is awesome in my book. Its also awesome that in the parks, they gave you no indication that he is a villian.

I still want to hug him. I still want my own Lotso, actually. Do they all smell like strawberries?

I'd like to think that spending time strapped to the front of a garbage truck reformed him.

But I'm a 20yr old guy and that scene where they all were holding hands almost brought me to tears!

Same here...movie was excellent in my opinion.

I would still get a picture with Lotso given the opportunity even though he turned out to be such a bad guy. It's always cool to have a chance to meet a new character.

We couldn't believe he was bad! and At the end when he had the chance to push the stop button I thought he was turning around...Wrong. I thought that clown who told the story about Lotso was creapy! That could have been one of Sid's toys...

I'm oddly happy to find out he's bad. I recall the pics of him as he had his debut at WDW...and I don't know if it was his eyebrows or overall expression- but I felt there was something a creepy or even sinister about him. I was thinking the angle would be that he was some misunderstood good guy- i.e. he was just created with the wrong expression and was a toy in need of love- obviously not the case. So, now I feel better for initially thinking the worst about him. :ROFLOL:

I agree...the trailers and commercials did a great job of showing him as a cute cuddly old bear with a cane. I thought making him nasty was GENIUS. Yeah, the part where we all thought he was going to press the stop button and then he didn't.....i know I gasped.
My 6 year old was scared during this part and actually wanted to leave but I explained to him that Disney would neverrrrr kill Buzz and Woody and then he was happy and rooting them on. GREAT movie.:) We saw it in 3D and it was cool but not as 3D as I had hope it would be. I guess i'm thinking too much about Philharmagic. The hand holding part...tearful...showed how much of a family they were...just like Buzz said in the interrogation room. The very end....even made my 6 year old start to cry. The way Andy cared for the toys and especially Woody....beautiful!! LOVED the movie!
