Lost Season 4 -- Oceanic 6 -- or was that 7?

Now, of course we know many of the "survivors" just decide to stay on the island and are not actually dead.

I seriously doubt that the people remaining on the island decide to stay there. If they knew everyone still on the island actually wanted to be there, why would "ghost" Charlie tell Hurley, "they need your help." Or why would Jack attempt suicide out of what I assume to be guilt?

Also, what I find to be particularly intriguing about who got off the island is, how did Hurley get off if he went with Locke? Also, Juliet specifically said that Sun would be dead in 3 weeks without leaving the island...which means that if it's not the freighter "saving" them, they're gonna get off soon via another method (well, soon in their time....3 weeks Lost time is, I assume, going to be the rest of the season).

In an interview on EW.com, I'm pretty sure Carlton and Damon did say that
we will find out this season who was in the casket during last year's finale.

So, the O6 get off and we find out who's in the coffin....all in the next 8 episodes (at least we know we'll get some answers).

I think some do. Locke wants to stay because he likes his newly working legs. Bernard and Rose stay to keep her cancer away. Sawyer has already said he would rather stay.

But...we don't know who it is that needs help. Or, it could be that the need for help arose after, or because of, their decision to stay on the island.

Doesn't mean he stayed with Locke....

Indeed they did.

Well...we'll know who's in the coffin. I doubt the six get off in the next 8 eps. More likely the next two seasons will mostly lead up to that.

Rose has cancer and Locke can walk again, so perhaps some stay on the island because of its healing properties. Given a choice between staying and living, and leaving and dying, I would assume they would choose staying.

Granted, those are the only two we know about, but ...

I'm way too lazy to split the post, but I think there will be a reason only 6 people go. I also think that there is a reason why some MUST go and some MUST stay. Don't know if it has to do with the freighter people, Ben, Locke, or general election by survivors, or even Lottery. But the six leaving are the six leaving for a reason. We know now that each is getting stronger reasons to go back. But whats troubling is why it's so hard for Jack to go back when Sayied is in contact with Ben off island and can clearly cross back and forth whenever he wants.

I don't think we've seen much evidence that Ben can come and go whenever he wants. Also, I think if Jack knew Sayid was working for Ben, he'd go after Ben to help him get back. I think the 06 are being closely monitored and may have been told to keep their contact to a minimum. Might explain why noone was at the funeral home in last season's finale, why kate won't see Jack and only met him late at night, and why Hurley was the only one to visit Sun and when he asked if anyone else came, he said "good" or something like that when he was told noone else showed up. As far as who gets to go and who gets to stay. The only theory i've read so far that makes sense is that the 6 who left were the only ones able to leave because they weren't near the hatch when it exploded and not exposed to the radiation.

This is a good theory, except Aaron was with Claire when the Swan exploded so he was exposed to the radiation as well as everyone else on the beach.

Well Ben could cross back and forth but we don't know that he still can do we?
Good point. I don't think Ben was able to leave the island easily, as he once was. If so, (I go back to my reasoning from before) why did he need Jack to surgically remove the cancer? Why not leave the island and get real medical attention?

Yes! He would not have needed Jack if he could leave easily.

This show is really trying my patience. Tonight's episode was good but when are they going to start advancing the story some? What did we learn tonight that we haven't heard over and over the last 3 weeks. Widmore owns the boat, Widmore is bad, the island is in danger. OK WE GET IT! geez. It's 8 episodes into the season and we barely know more than we did at the start. Some people get off, some don't, the freighter is bad, the island is spooky. Let's get the 6 off the freaking island already. Hopefully when the show returns it will move alot faster since I think the producers have said they are telling the same stories they were going to in the 16 week season but now instead of 16 it's only 13. I'm ready for some action.

'k, i need some help. there was a "winter storm warning" that came on during lost last night in central pa (the NERVE!) and I missed what was said between Michael and the guys on the boat shooting clay pigeons. Was it something important? Thanks!

Spoiler Alert

SPOILER....Scroll past this post to avoid the SPOILER

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED :D

I heard one of those old faces you mentioned is apparently Christian Shephard, Jack's Dad (was he seen in a season 3 flashback, or was he only in season 1). And, according to the source (I can't remember if I read it on TVGuide.com or E! Online), he has a message for "both" his kids (meaning Jack and Claire...good stuff!).

I am really excited for the rest of this season, and as Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof tease, yet another "game changer" for the finale.
