Oh, and I'm assuming that the post earlier about the alligators in the boat flume was a joke. But just to re-assure everyone out there, nothing of the sort has ever happened, obviously for the safety of both the Guests and the animals.

Other animals from the wild have fallen in the cannal though. :animwink:

I've been asking around and I could be wrong but I don't think the is going to happen?

Well, one boat for sure is already in the boat storage area waiting to be set free. The others I've yet to see.

The land area is messy because they put Soarin in there. As I said before- huge mistake! Soarin needed it's own building for another screen.

Soarin' does have it's own building. The queue is the long hallway that takes you to it. The Land would be deserted if it weren't for it now. The only other reason to go in there is to eat.

It seems that the slow "Living with the Land" boat ride will be getting a refurb going down August 2, 2009 and will be down for at least two months. They're going to be adding new boats to the flume, new video in the barn scenes. The main purpose of the refurb is the structure of the queue area and for better guest flow, especially for the busier seasons. The new boats are already in and they appear to have a total of 10 rows, with the wheelchair access ramp in the back. There are a few parts in the attraction where they're going to have to expand the flume, due to the new boats being too large to make some of the turns.

I wish they would bring back the "listen to the land" song :animwink:

Has there been any confirmation of this refurb yet?

For what its worth, a couple of my coworkers at The Seas were discussing the Land boatride refurb today. I overheard them saying that it will start August 2nd, last for a couple of months, and involve replacing the boats. That's all I know at the moment.

I'm going to be beyond ed if this holds true. The fact that Disney would not inform guests just 1 week out of a planned closure is absolutely, 100% unacceptable.

I love what they have done with food though, what is it the 4 seasons food court or something? MUCH BETTER.
Hey I'm not crapping on Disney I love it, but Soarin crammed into the land? It's one of the most popular attractions in DL if not the most. did they not think it would go over big enough?

It does have it's own building... with two screens I believe.

Interesting. I find this hard to belive though...Why no word from Disney?

Exactly.

I'm glad it's getting work done, but I will certainly miss it on my potential trip.

Let's just say that I've found some...interesting things floating in there. One time, I even found a toy Dory from Finding Nemo swimming in the canal. I figured she was just lost and made sure she made it back home to The Seas.
