The plural of vinyl is vinyl.

Never in the 70s/80s were multiple records called vinyls. Records, LPs, albums. There is one vinyl record; there is a collection of vinyl.

Today, for some reason, “vinyls” is increasing in use.

I call them “records” anyway, but “vinyls” doesn’t sound egregious or even objectionable to me. But again, it’s nothing I would say in the first place, and I respect your feelings as someone in the industry.

Having watched The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes last night, I’ve finally seen Zegler in action. She’s a strong actor and great singer, and certainly qualified for the role of Snow White.

I thought this had been silently cancelled, I’m surprised to hear it’s still in production. With all the negativity surrounding it I wonder what their expectations are.

Short of astounding word of mouth I don’t see any way this movie won’t fail spectacularly with all the negativity surrounding it. Seems like it would have cost Disney less to simply toss it in the dumpster rather than spending more money to reshoot it and complete it.

Or just dump it to D+. The remakes that went to D+ that were bad, they were forgotten pretty quickly. But a theater release, gets much more scrutiny since there are boxoffice numbers involved.

I don't know how this stuff works.

I am guessing the needed to complete the work no matter what they plan to do with it.

I am guessing if its to be written off, it cant ever be seen, it cant be put on D+

Its probably worth more as a write off at this point.

It seems TWDC has been writing off a lot of stuff in recent years.

Did COVID teach TWDC the art of writing off stuff?

There’s some negativity but not for any real reason as far as I can see.

I’m looking forward to seeing a new interpretation of Snow White; should be fun, especially with Greta Gerwig involved in the writing.

Oh I didn’t know it was Greta!

I’m not bothering with this thread by and large. But everyone’s pre-release ‘assumptions’ have usually been wildly overstated or even completely off the mark for nearly all of Disneys product.

It may very well flop, but assuming the movie is a train wreck based on pre release stills 2 years out seems about as accurate as a magic 8 ball. It’s weird how much pre conceptions there are around this product.

I assume I’ll see some actual footage at D23 and will happily note if I think it looks bad based on that.
