It's going to be interesting to see what they do to the attractions after they rewrite/change the IP they were created for.
Now that Dwarfs are not allowed, what do they do here?

Absolutely nothing.

Just like how Splash Mountain songs are still everywhere, how they're not going to edit any instance of the "offensive" songs from Little Mermaid, and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they put out a video denouncing King Louie as an example of prior racism in the company right before featuring the character and his song in both KiteTails and Harmonious.

(Did you know you can still hear the original "Following the Leader", slurs and all, on property?)

They have no consistency, which I personally am very thankful for.

I thought they erased all the Splash songs from the parks?

If you accept the thesis behind the reasons to redo Splash, you could make the same arguments for the redo of 7DMT. In fact, the latter ride focuses more exclusively on the harmful and uninclusive aspects of the IP.

How does Disney not see this backlash coming? They just throw millions at this thing and think families will be dying to spend $60 to take the family to a retelling of a film that came out 90 years ago?

It worked for BatB, Aladdin, and TLK. They each grossed over $1B at the box office.

The Jungle Book remake almost hit a billion, too. Cinderella, over half a billion.

All of these profited during their theatrical window (and went on to make even more money in the subsequent pay windows.)

TLM is closing in on half a billion, but its expensive budget makes that a disappointment in the theatrical window.

Of course, there were bombs and would-be bombs that were shuttled to D+.

But it's not crazy to try. TLM box office shows there's still an audience -- apart from you -- who will go. Although, it is possible that a significant part of the audience is now waiting for such movies to hit D+ instead of going to the theater. Much cheaper for them.

Disney just needs to reign in the budget.

Exactly.

At this point 7dmt needs to be re-imagined for a modern audience.

I guess you are right. Resistance is futile. TWDC will do what it will do as we clearly see.

My opinion about Splash was always IF they keep the ride path the same for Splash with the drop, Splash will still be a fun flume ride. My other concern was about the length of time Splash would be closed to do whatever they are trying to do.

As for the mine train, yes, they can erase all elements from the original animated classic, and it will still be a fun family coaster.
I personally will miss what they did in the dark ride portions, but I am only one person, it does not matter.

For TLM attraction, that should be an easy update too.

What are they waiting for. Let's get all the construction walls up now. The attendance is low now, right?

I think at this point most rides need to be re-imagined. Country Bears needs to be high on the list. Followed by Hall of Presidents. And that's just scratching the surface. Especially The Three Caballeros. That one most definitely needs to be on "the list". Let's make it happen.

JUST WALL EVERYTHING OFF AND CHANGE EVERYTHING!

Folks can go to Universal while a total re do of the MK happens.

Lots of kids who grew up watching BatB, Aladdin, TLK, now have young kids of their own. There is a built in audience for those films. Snow White doesn't have that.
