Yours isn’t the kind of criticism I’m talking about, even if I don’t agree with everything you say.

For what it’s worth, this remake seems to be a much more extensive reimagining than simply swapping the race and gender of some of the characters. That doesn’t mean it’ll be any good, of course, but they could have taken a much easier and lazier route.
I hope that's true. I'd be way more interested in something unique like Cruella rather than another live action Lion King

How many times have they rebooted Spider-Man in the last 20? Batman?
Spider-Man and Batman were rebooted 3 times. One less than Snow white if you count this new one. If you count all major releases, we have the original animated, snow white and the huntsman, mirror mirror and now this.

The new film appears to have adopted the Dinklage view that the earlier depictions of the dwarves (which are clearly based on mythic stereotypes) is not something that belongs in a modern film.

I still can’t believe they caved to him since he didn’t even know the story, he said the movie was backwards and had them living in caves.

They also ignored the other people with dwarfism who spoke out in favor of the film saying it would provide roles and could be used to change the humorous, child like image of dwarfs and represent them as more serious characters.

The whole debacle highlights the idiocy of trying to appease all outrage, no matter what you do you can’t win, you’re just chasing your own tail.

Do we know whether the "magical creatures" will have the same names/identities as the classic Dwarfs? We've already seen people comment here that they are skeptical there would be a Dopey. Though I think Martin Klebba - who I think is the only actual little person in the film though someone could correct me if I am wrong - was said to play Grumpy.

They are rewriting a lot of the movie so I am guessing they will change some names, if not all names of the "magical creatures".

Honestly the term "magical creatures" in and of itself is demeaning, reclassifying beings down to mere creatures. Makes one wonder where the mind is at of those who come up with such phrases and terms.

"magical beings" would certainly be more appropriate but IIRC "magical creatures" did originate from Disney

Those films were phenomenon's that 90's kids witnessed in real time. Snow White was an old film you watched at your grandmas house

Born in '91 - we watched Snow White constantly in our house, using our own VHS. Heck, I'd reenact the run through the forest scene because it seemed fun to run along the couch pretending evil trees were trying to get me.

"El Gran Magnifico"

Mr Flibble is Very Cross.
Sorry no way in HELL I would show this to my children or someday Grandchildren. We will stick to the original in our house.

I’m just gonna tell my grandchildren that these were the 7 Dwarfs
