Am i the only one jealous of DCA? They are getting all kinds of great stuff, and all we get is one mermaid and meet n greets, oh yeah, and the return of captain crap! I hope they start spending serious money at wdw in the near future
Funny I was thinking the same thing.

I liked the end of the video that said "This is just the beginning." WDW's would be, "Be happy you got the clone, now shut up."
You forgot "and dont forget to visit one of our brand new DVC kiosks.

You can always schedule a trip there and see it. But be warned that they also have "captian crap" there playing as well. :D:D

Today I realized what a funny group of people we are. We sit here and go googly eyed over Disney and it's near perfection. But out of our love for Disney, we can only look for reasons to criticize and hate it. Lol, don't try and disagree, it's sort of true.

Once again, TDO has nothing to do with Imagineering. And few people realize that their is a Florida location for Imagineering with about 150 people on staff at any given time. They don't just work on WDW though but projects all over the world.

Im glad to see other people see what i see. This is the number one park inthe world! I know Disneyland is the original, but wdw is the power behind the force. Bring it on to wdw!

Nothing to do with Imagineering, but everything to do with rejecting or accepting proposed rides, parades, shows, restaurants, and everything else that affects their budgets—within limits. Corporate can still shove things into the pipeline. Example: Star Tours II, which DL and TDL desperately wanted and TDO didn't want to help finance. :brick:

On a tangent: almost all Disney merchandise comes out of the DDG in Florida, but WDW and DLP have the least amount of land-specific merch available, while TDL gets gorgeous stuff and DL gets some pretty decent special event merchandise.

Regardless of where stuff originates, local execs still make the decisions that directly affect the parks.

I know you know this, but I'm just clarifying my earlier statement.

(And I know that you know that I know, because otherwise we wouldn't know why we were discussing who knows what.)

They do some what. They are the ones who approve the project and provide the money.

Hey... they are rumors floating around that this may change this year with DLR ;)

I can so own up to this. I feel when we get a great attraction we say " WOW!!! Disney did a great job on this one!!! Now let's pick at every little thing we see that is ugly or not working:ROFLOL:

Sadly, it is true, but these conversations don't completely reveal people's personalities and opinions, because we talk about the same subjects.

Naturally, if you disagree with X, you'll always have something negative to say about it; and as long as the conversation centers on X, you'll look like a Negative Nellie. Yet you might be perfectly happy with everything else in life.

Some good pics of the big model in DCA's Blue Sky Cellar...

And the clamshell ride vehicles. They look much like the Nemo vehicles, but these will be a new vehicle for Disneyland Resort as the Anaheim Nemo ride uses Submarines instead.

Yes it will be very exciting, I hope that the ground breaking stuff in it really makes me say, "WOW!"

I only don't like how Disneyland's will be open before ours! That way, it's not going to be new to a lot of us.

Great pictures of the models and such. Its all looking too much like nemo though. Exact same vehicles etc except for colors. And Lee your right after looking at the track layout it does appear very short, but will hopefully be on a grand scale, otherwise another nemo ride is what were getting. The downward effect of the vehicles at the begining simulating going under the sea should be cool. And the middle big room will probably be the best part.
Im wondering though what the load wall/area will look like along the vehicles? Do you think it will just be rock work like nemo? Or will it be more like a mural?

For a side by side comparison, here's the Little Mermaid Omnimover with 107 vehicles:

Compared to Haunted Mansion at Disneyland with 131 vehicles (18 unused on backstage portion) and The Haunted Mansion at WDW with 160 vehicles (14 unused on backstage portion), compliments of grimghost.com [Quick trivia; at Disneyland the attraction's formal title is Haunted Mansion, and at WDW the attraction's formal title has the word "the" added to it and is known as The Haunted Mansion.]

As a point of reference, the Graveyard Scene on both coasts from the shaky caretaker to the crypt entrance is 20 Omnimover vehicles long. The Under The Sea scene in Little Mermaid from the entrance to the exit of that room is also 20 Omnimover vehicles long.

While I dont agree with people calling this a E-ticket, I can only hope that Little Mermaid starts a trend to more classic dark rides. These types of attractions are what DHS and DAK really need, something that can appeal to the entire family and has no height requirement while being much more than a simple spinner. The Studios has only Toy Story Mania, while DAK has none.

So true, and they are great for moving alot of people at one time. I always wanted to see a mulan dark ride at the studios since it was created there. The studios could still use another dark ride, maybe more tradtional and smaller like snow white or nemo etc.
And one at AK would be great too!! The Jungle Book or Tarzan or something like that.

I do not see why the mural planned for California would be entirely inappropriate inside Prince Eric's Castle. Some tweaks to the styling for each, and they should be fine at their respective locations.

One big difference is that Toy Story Midway Mania! is screens. When was the last time that any park at Walt Disney World got a dark ride built entirely around physical sets?

After looking at this angle of the model:

I dont think the descent begins immediately. You down a spiral staircase sort of, it appears.

Pooh in 1999 I believe was the last "classic" style dark ride with sets added at WDW but it wasnt "new" in that it replaced another (Mr Toad).
