Little Mermaid Track Layout (not a question)

For those looking for a track layout, there's good news coming in from California Adventure this Friday! From Al Lutz on Miceage today...

Editor's Note 6/9: Disney will be bringing in Jodi Benson, voice of the Little Mermaid, to perform at a "What's Next?" media announcement on Fri. where she will help debut the new Little Mermaid exhibit in the Blue Sky Cellar. In addition to a full track schematic of the ride and plenty of new sketches, there will be new art and info about Goofy's Sky School, the Paradise Garden Grill food court, the Red Car Trolley, the Buena Vista St. entrance complex, the C Tickets coming to Cars Land, and a new video on the 100 inch plasma screen. Don't forget to swing by the Cellar on Fri. while you wait for World of Color. - Al Lutz

So in less than 48 hours the DCA Blue Sky Cellar preview center will have a big new exhibit up about the Little Mermaid ride that opens at DCA in less than a year. The exterior portion of the DCA ride won't have much relevance to WDW fans, but it looks like there will be some new artwork and a track layout for the ride. And that should be directly applicable to the WDW version coming later.

Friday will be a huge day with the public debut of World of Color, but I'm sure there will be some West Coast websites capturing the new stuff in the Blue Sky Cellar as well.

Track layout?
Here you go. In green. All 700 or so feet of it.
The omnis move clockwise through the building. Same exact layout for both versions.
The big room in the middle is Under the Sea.

It's looking like there will be a decent queue for this. Will there be Fastpass?

I would expect a fastpass. It still looks like a pretty decent sized dark ride to me.

Nah...it's quite short. Without the load/unload you are looking at less than 600ft of track. (Compared to say, HM at DL which is right around 800.)
About 7 scenes, one big, two medium, the rest fairly small.
Very underwhelming.

Will it be similar to something like the Whinnie the Pooh ride? I love that ride.

No offence Mister. Lee but you sound like a downer alot of the times...:(

So far as I Know, the Micechat art diagram is wrong.

WDW and DCA will share the same layout. It dosn`t look much like the above. The load/unload straight are in the wrong place. The ride is single floor with some vaulted rooms.

How does this ride work exactly?? Is it something exciting or is it just another lame Nemo clamshell ride through??
Exciting? I wouldn't say so. Quaint and pleasant is more like it.
As for being like Nemo...well...you do sit in a clamshell, but the sets will be better. And 100% less live fish.

Hey all you adults... to the average 2-8 yr old, this ride will be awesome. My 3 girls and their friends are all looking forward to it, and they also LOVE the NEMO ride.

You people seem to forget the MK, especially Fantasyland is for kids. If you want excitment, go to anohter land in MK or hop on the mode of transportation of your choice and go to one of the other parks.

As for the ride itself, let's all sit back and wait to see what WDI has come up with.

NO. MK isn't just for kids. Not even FL is "only" for kids, that's why they once built 20.000LutS, although it is clearly the land with the strongest children-friendly theming. MK is, like DL, for all ages ! You forget that that was exactly what Walt wanted to create in the first place, a park that offers entertainment and fun for all members of a family, not only the children (and today of course also to couples without children etc.)

I'm sure. But, as someone once said, if you just aim for kids...you're dead.

Ummm.....no.:brick:
MK is for everyone. Something for everyone, not everything for everyone.

But, what if we already know what they have come up with?:animwink:

Lee,
Your opinions of this Fantasyland expansion not-withstanding, do you agree that Fantasyland was in need of an expansion?

To your argument above, just because one major expansion is targetted at kids doesn't mean the focus of the entire park has shifted. While I agree that targetting a specific group (in this case kids) is a poor plan for a park (case in point, IOA didn't have a wide range and as such was a failure).

To me, while I'm not the target for the Fantasyland Expansion, it accomplishes several things that were needed: increased capacity, additional dining locations, more access to the princesses and a fresh dark ride. The problem is this should have happened a while ago, and it's not the only problem with the parks.

Somewhere in this sub-forum I ranked the need for an E-Ticket and the need for capacity in each park. I think where much of the dissatisfaction comes with the Fantasyland expansion is that while it serves a need, it doesn't serve a need that directly appeals to us fan boys.

Disney World has several needs/problem areas. This is what I can come up with for each park:

Magic Kingdom:
  • Capacity
  • E-Ticket thrill ride
  • Replacement for Stitch's Great Escape
  • Expansion to Adventureland
  • Expansion to Tomorrowland

Epcot:
  • Imagination Pavilion overhaul
  • World Showcase E-Ticket
  • Replacement of Odyssey or Wonders of Life (presumably one is needed for Special Events)
  • Refurbishment of Ellen's Energy Adventure
  • "Completion" of Spaceship Earth descent

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
  • Additional attraction in Pixar Place (Monster's Inc Coaster)
  • Re-theme of Honey I Shrunk the Audience Movie Set
  • Replacement of Backlot Tour
  • Refurbishment/Expanded offerings of Fantasmic
  • Additional attractions in New York Street/Muppets/Backlot area

Animal Kingdom:
  • Yeti Repairs
  • Refurbishment of Dinosaur to add new effects and return old missing effects
  • New land in Camp Minnie Mickey/re-location of Festival of the Lion King
  • New land/attraction in cleared area behind Kali River Rapids. Would require modification to train and/or Maharajah Jungle Trek
  • Removal/replacement of Dinorama
  • Additional Animal trails
