Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner

I have eaten lunch here before, but I am going to have my first dinner here in September. I don't eat meat, but my favorite side dishes are being served.
Do the side dishes and meats come out on the same platter? Do you think it would be a big inconvenience if I asked for side dishes only?
Are the desserts unlimited also?
Thank you!

I ate there last in Jan 2008 and if I remember correctly the meats all came out on the same platter and the sides came out on seperate platters/ bowls. I'm sure it will not be a problem if you explain that you are a vegetarian and want only the sides, the restaurants are very accomodating. The dessert is some kind of cobbler (apple or peach I'm not sure) with vanilla ice cream. I don't eat cobbler and asked the waitress for just a small bowl of ice cream. She happy obliged and brought out a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream for me!:slurp:

Liberty Tree Tavern dinner is now a family style buffet, and doesn't have the variety of a regular sit down restaurant for special dietary needs, but, all restaurants will accomodate special dietary needs, so I'm sure there would be no problem if you ask for your items to be provided separately. Beyond that if you call and talk with them before hand, they will most likely be able to prepare some additional items for you that are not on the regular menu.

It is easiest to contact them ahead of time, but you will notice that most Disney restaurants ask if there are any special dietary needs when you are being seated. Telling them up front is not a problem or inconvenience.

The foods have always been served family style (at least every time I have been there over the years :lookaroun ). It is all you care to eat so feel free to ask for more of any dish you enjoy even the dessert, I especially love the salad. The meat is on a separate platter so you will have no trouble avoiding that.

If I recall, the stuffing is under the meat.

Everything else is indeed seperate.

But of course if someone asked for a dish of stuffing, I don't see that being a problem.

This is such a no-problem kind of request. Let them know when you arrive at the restaurant, and remind the server once you're seated. They'll insure that sides are nowhere near meat.

Just thought of something! Ask for your mashed potatoes without gravy as it's beef gravy from the pot roast.

I'm guessing that the stuffing itself wouldn't be vegetarian.

Great question, we want to hear here to on our trip in December and I also do not eat meat so this helped me out as well :) :sohappy:

If you want a buffet, you may want to consider Cape May Clam Bake that has a good offering of seafood, or even Boma that while having a number of meat entrees, has more variety, so a better choice that a "family style" meal.

And both are very good and worth the price. :king:

What I like about Boma is there is a chef at each station who will explain the dishes to you.

I have a question. Is this the one good place for mac and cheese? Son loves it but not Disney's kind. Any other places?

LTT serves Stouffer's mac 'n cheese. If you are not familiar with that brand you can buy a small package in the freezer section of your store to try it out.

That is the only place I know of that serves pre packaged mac 'n cheese, everyone else makes their own (which I happen to love as well :slurp: ).

We always try to eat at the LTT for dinner and even throw in a lunch here & there, we have never had a bad meal there. :)

EDIT: I just did a bit of searching on the net and found a guy who works in food services at WDW...the Land also uses Stouffers and so do some of the buffets (though names were not mentioned).
