That bad, huh?Better than the gulf coast.

The gulf wasn’t as bad as I feared. Not brilliant but more than manageable. That bad, huh?
Reminds me of the pictures of all the bicycles they find at the bottom of the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris during the periodic cleanups.I'd love to see a photo gallery of what was at the bottom of these after they were drained.
The rafts are still running. So why didn't they just drain the entire thing?? Are they still running rafts to Tom Sawyer's?
Once we learned that they were going to partially drain it, several folks posted pictures when it started and as it progressed. Shockingly, aside from the nearly-50-years' worth of sludge at the bottom, there wasn't really any sign of garbage.I'd love to see a photo gallery of what was at the bottom of these after they were drained.
Is that your Johnson Bar or are you just happy to see me.The engineer is "stepping on the gas." The "throttle" is called the Johnson Bar. If you go to the lowest deck you can see him in action. The pilot communicates with the engineer using the whistle.
No worries! There are lots of folks here who have more info about things than I do. It's always nice to learn something new!Geekza,
It has been drained and cleaned a number of times since 1971. I had the complete opposite reaction and was actually shocked that they refilled it with so much muck and slime remaining.
You can find images online of a pressurewashed mold free proper rehab on the Rivers of America.
I appreciate your opinion however.
Wonder if it just appears higher since they cleaned out the muck?It looks like they replaced the track. I don't have access to my "before" pictures but that looks newer and higher.
Wow” is that cool. Its like seeing the park when they were, building it. I hope they keep ts island. I really like going out there. You hear that bobby? No touchy ts Island or you’ll wake up with a bloody mouse head in your bed... ok bobby...There was a rumor a while back that they would dock the boat and drain the river. Bye Bye TS Island and build attractions in that huge space.
The annoying part is that both sides were “clean.” But now they took the pile of dirt and muck that they had accumulated from both sides and spread it out on that one side.
Like how when you’re sweeping your house, you pile all the dust and dirt up and then remove it en masse? The annoying part is that both sides were “clean.” But now they took the pile of dirt and muck that they had accumulated from both sides and spread it out on that one side.
They piled it all up in one giant pile. My assumption was they were preparing to remove the pile, but instead they just spread it all out againLike how when you’re sweeping your house, you pile all the dust and dirt up and then remove it en masse?
That’s like how my 5-year olds clean! They piled it all up in one giant pile. My assumption was they were preparing to remove the pile, but instead they just spread it all out again
Spreading it out so it dries out. The less it weighs the betterThey piled it all up in one giant pile. My assumption was they were preparing to remove the pile, but instead they just spread it all out again
