Seems like the riverboat is closed more often than not. It must be very high maintenance. Still, it’s always disappointing. In four trips I think it’s been open once. Lol

At least they're taking care of it and its circular "river". In DLP they let their boat rot so the gingerbread molding was literlly falling off the deck.

It would be nice if they had taken this opportunity to also enhance the settings around the river loop...they really need some work and additions...make it more like Disneyland's version...and more settings for the train as well

I'm not sure if you've noticed but over the last 15 years there has been a lot of tree removal along the north stretch.

You can view the backs of show buildings and sewage treatment plant better than ever.

You can also see what devistation hurricanes bring to wooded swampland.

It's not exactly cascading waterfalls and the animatronic nature but still... It makes MK unique in that way. It's educational if you look close enough.

My point was...fix the sight lines...add new settings and expand them...Same goes for the train which is pathetic... There are too few settings and way too much visualk intrusion of roads, show buildings etc...they could plus that up and make it a beautiful experience...

While I wish your dream comes true I don't hold out out hope.

I’m starting to think they uncovered more issues with the Liberty Belle and that might be causing the reopening delay.
The boat has been done for quite some time, the problem is somebody got their wires crossed on the timing with the upgrades around Tom Sawyer Island. So there waiting for that to happen. It's a bit of an embarrassment on their part but their human too!

It's a bit of a project to get it back into position. It can move under its own power but doesn't have a rutter so when they move it they us two motorcruisers one in the front and one behind. And the two ar able to tow and steer it into place. Pretty neat thing to see actually.

Hint: Rutters go above the water line. Rudders go below it.

I have the solution of how to keep the river, but gain pedestrian and attraction access to that area of the park and beyond:

1. replace the river with a concrete pavement to make it look like it's a river
2. but the paddle boat on wheels so it can still take its tour
3. profit
I still think they should put a tunnel under the river and theme it after Indian Joe's Cave. As long as they have had the boat out of service and the river drained they could have gone ahead and put a tunnel in. ;)

Except for the small problem of underground tunnels in Florida, that would be a good solution. It still has the issue with evac procedures, but a tunnel is the most logical solution if the water problem didn't exist.
