Least wet seat on Splash Mtn.?

Hey all! I'll be in WDW in 40 days -- of course, SO excited!!

This question can probably be easily answered, but I thought I'd go ahead and just set out a forum, so I can get different responses.

I want to enjoy Splash Mountain to the fullest extent--enjoying the scenery, paying attention to overlooked detail, hands-up on the big drop, etc. BUT...I'm not sure that I want to be soaked for the rest of the day while enjoying my day in the MK. . .

So, where is the seat on the log where I could get the least wet?

I heard that with the new lap bars, it creates less weight and therefore, you get more wet w/ the speed. But I'm not sure..

So, if anyone could answer this question, that'd be great!!

Thanks!

I dont think there is ONE seat that gets least wet. It just depends. I will tell you that its best to go on Splash in the morning, that way if you do get soaked you have more time to dry off walking around the park. That is if getting soaked is what you're most worried about. :D

I don't know how the net lapbar setup effects things but before the back seat barely got you wet if at all. Also, i've found that the killer is the shot of water that comes down on you (if timed correctly) right before you enter the mountain

I've heard that, too.

Less weight equals more speed? Hmmm, that was not my understanding of the laws of gravity. :brick:

Oh, I heard it and was like "umm, right...". But just basing some things on what others said on here.

See, I'm not scared of water:ROFLOL:. It's just, I don't want to walk around MK like I just got off Kali River Rapids and I have to go like that all day. But, there is indeed that Florida sun...

It dosn`t matter. If you get hit by the false splash jets when circling the Briar Patch you will get soaked. With no drop involved.

I don't think it matters if you get attacked by that nasty water cannon! Bring a rain poncho & don't worry about the weird looks people give you as you put it on.

The last seat is the only one that pretty much remains splash-free from the drop -- but as others have said -- if the water-canons are firing, and you get stuck waiting a few moments on the lift hill before you enter the mountain, you will get soaked. They turn those off on cooler days -- so on those days, go, relax, and sit in the last row.

There are random splashes throughout the ride, though -- so if you are completely water-aversem either don't ride or wear a poncho. YOu'll see LOTS of people in ponchos on the ride...many of them getting off completely dry poncho and all...

the back and put your head in your lap at the bottom of the hill. If you get wet, it'll only be your back. I do this every time. Never fails.

The accelleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s^2) is independent of the mass of the object.

The effects of air resistance is a different story.

Forget air resistance. More weight equals more water displacement and much more resistance therefore actually a boat with one person only occupying the last seat should be fastest.

I always try to ride last seat and only end up a little damp if even that. What bothers me is the sour smell of the seats..... ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

I always get wet on the part where you're going passed the drop and a boat lands at the same time. I like to ride continuously at night since there is no line so I used to take my shirt off for the ride and put it in a plastic bag but they dont allow that anymore. Now I quickly take off my shirt, put on my jacket which I bring but never wear and put my shirt in a plastic bag or sit on it which is no longer an option, after the drops I switch back.

You can duck a lot in the front seat and douse the people right behind you. :ROFLOL:

I play the same game haha. I try to duck down as far as I can in the front and most of the time only my back gets wet. As for the water cannon when the logs go down the big drop, I try to sit on the left side and grab a board or two on the fence and pull the log to the lift faster. I was getting yelled at by some people in the last row on my last trip, so either they were off duty CM's or they wanted to get wet.

That would be the case if the boat actually went down the drop in the water and not on wheels on a track.

When I ride Splash in the winter, I either wear a poncho or I wear a ball cap and a sweatshirt with a hood that tightens with string. I pull the sweatshirt hood OVER The hat and tie it down tightly. Then, as soon as I get off the ride, I take off the sweatshirt and either tie it around my waist to dry, or put it in a bag. What bothers me more is the "wet seat" factor.
