Le Cellier vs Yachtsman's

Thank you for taking the time to teach your daughter good manners and how to behave well in public places. Good parenting is not easy, it is a lot of hard work and you should be complimented!!! Marie
Thank you. I have to admit though it is somewhat selfish on our parts. We like going to nice places and teaching her to behave just continued to allow us to do that.

I'm sure you are aware of how many other people don't care if their child acts out, nice places or not. I know the time and effort it takes to teach good behavior, as I have many friends who do the same with their kids. It just deserves some recognition as it certainly isn't easy or quick!!! Thank you again!!! Marie

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Oh and having the dress code is nice. I know people are on vacation, but once in a while it's nice to sit down to a meal without denim Dan in his cut-off jean shorts & his t-shirt of an American Eagle grasping a 6-pack of PBR sitting next to
The only place that actually follows the dress code is Victoria And Alberts. Yes all the Signatures say they have one but we have never seen it enforced. See people in cut offs to suits at most of them when we have gone. Does not bother me and the DH but do not expect to not see those things just because it is a Signature like Yachtsman , etc. :)

Are you saying there are no kids allowed under 10??? If so, OH is that a HUGE selling point for me; more people should have led with that! :hilarious: Don't get me wrong, I have a big heart for kids... but not in restaurants.
Only place that does not allow under 10 years old is Victoria and Alberts. All Signatures allow all ages. :)

So what if it's a little selfish? You could have just kept on going to those places and taught her zilch and basically punished those around you. So yet again, kudos to y'all for doing it right!

I vividly remember one specific instance of parents doing it wrong (oh so wrong) while I was out dining solo on a business trip, and this little hellion was having a conniption fit at a nearby table because her "parents" wouldn't let her have dessert before dinner this time. I say 'this time' because I doubt she would have had that strong of a reaction if they'd never let her do it before. She went on and on and on and on and on and on and ON, whining and crying and moaning and complaining and yada yada yada. This kid was easily 8 years old, if not older. She didn't stop until the Dad finally had enough of the Mom's gentle pandering after about 20-30 minutes of the whining session (not exaggerating, I was watching the time on my phone) and took her outside.

So THANK you for teaching your child from an early age, to avoid behavior like ^^ that ^^.

We have taken our daughter there on 3 occasions now and this will be her 4th. Each time she has ranged in age from 11 months to 4. She loves the restaurant and is actually treated better there than some of the restaurants that cater to kids. However, we are lucky my daughter is extremely well behaved and will sit in restaurants for long periods at a time. We have done it ever since she was 3 months. We figured teacher her early to sit and behave. You have to get used to people making faces though when you are first seated but once they see she is able to sit and not complain other diners usually warm up.

This! We r going here for the first time this Nov and glad it's getting such good reviews! It's 5 of us, including our 3 young kids. My kids are always well behaved in restaurants and like to go out, so I don't have a problem taking them there. We are going here on our no park day and will hang out on the boardwalk after and maybe try beaches and cream...

Based on Disney's site which is definitely the more official and probably the more up to date I would say the 32 Porterhouse for two, sorry!!! Marie

Too bogus! $110 dollars for the 32oz porterhouse for 2!!!

These menus keep ing me off. I find something I like and always the damn menu changes...

I switched to Yacht from Citricos because they got rid of their veal shank...I will still dine at yacht because they have other yummy stuff on their menu but this is getting tiring...why do all the good menu items get taken away :(

I wonder if this is temporary. They took the porterhouse away from 3 months last year and it returned.
Maybe supply issues?

I was kinda wondering about the pricing myself, it does seem a bit high even for the Yachtsman but I guess if you are throwing in all of the sides? Marie

Well split evenly... 16 oz porterhouse and a trio of sides for $55 each isnt too bad. The filet (heaven on a plate:inlove:) with one side is $48.
I think it is priced okay depending on how big the "trio of sides" are.

Still, seems like a rip if you wouldn't normally opt for 3 sides, and since the 28 oz porterhouse was $65. I hope you are right and it is just a supply issue, and the 28 oz-er will be back before we know it!

Don't worry! Due to Yachtsman being off-site (having to leave the park) the odds of seeing small children is slim-to-none. I can't recall seeing anyone under 16 there during my times there. Sure it could have been luck or timing of the visits; however, I'd like my chances better @ Yachtsman for kid free dining.

I dined at Yachtsman in my June trip, and there were quite a number of young children, one of whom was at the next table. Although his mother apologised profusely for his behaviour, it still didn't negate the fact he threw his chicken on to my table which then ended on the floor. She had to leave half way through the meal as he just would not behave.

I really think that they need to be more open about whether restaurants are 'kid friendly'. Sure, you're at Disney World, so sure, kids are and should be allowed anywhere if a parent wants to take them. However, it doesn't mean they belong anywhere (like at these kinds of restaurants) - he must have been bored senseless as it's quite a 'boring' place for an under-10 who knows Mickey is probably appearing somewhere nearby!
