Le Cellier or Teppan Edo?

Now before you all pick Le Cellier hear me out for a second...

The only time I could get for Le Cellier was 2:45 in the afternoon - not the most convenient time for lunch or supper! But worse then that we usually go back to the hotel in the midday for a rest/nap. This would prevent us from taking our midday break. My kids are still pretty young (just turned 6 and 3 years old) and they still need a break in the middle of the day (heck, mom and dad need the break in the middle of the day:animwink:)! Normally, I'd say we'd have a later morning and then we wouldn't need the break but I have an early appointment for the BBB for my daughter that can't be changed. So this will be a long day for the kids!!!

We have been to Le Cellier before and we did enjoy it which is why it was on our list for this year. But my husband loves Japenese food and I've never been to a restaurant like Teppan Edo before. I think the cooking show would entertain the kids and my kids are adventurous eaters as well! I would much prefer to have a dinner on this particular day and I'm wondering if Teppan Edo would be a better choice for our family and for our schedule!?!

What do you think?

I have never been to Teppan Edo (been to plenty of Hibachi places though)

I have been to Le Cellier and continue to be a lone voice in the wilderness saing that I did not find it all that impressive. I have had much better steaks (and food in general), in a much nicer atmosphere in numerous other places. Le Cellier is not bad by any means, but I just don't get all the hype it gets.

So for me, I would give Le Cellier a pass and try out Teppan Edo.

We have been to Le Celler many times and have allways loved it. But just for something different we went to Teppan Edo last month and it was super. I'm a pretty picky eater, not much beyond meat and potatoes interests me and I found it all very tasty. And not only that, you get a show too. I would highly recommend for you to put Teppan Edo on your list of places to try.

I would vote for Teppan Edo. the entertainment alone would be worth it for your kids. The tend to go all out for parties that have children in them. We had a set of 4 year old twins at the same table as us. It was a blast. The food was really good to. I would give it a shot.

Last Dec, we ate at Le Cellier, and I have to say that I was not as impressed with it as the year before.
If I were going back this year, I'd definitely be tempted to try something like Edo.

Flip a coin hehe.. They are the 2 best places to go so you can't lose

Surely, you don't mean on all of the property? Ohana has to be one of the best... If I had to choose between LeCellier and Ohana, I'd choose Ohana without hesitation (of course, location, plans that day, etc. would affect things..).

I don't know about Ohana (I mean I do like it and all, but it an other place that I think is overrated) but there are many other place I would put before Le Celliar. Average food in a dark and cramped atomsphere does not scream fine dining to me.

Definately recommend an evening reservation at Teppan Edo rather than a 2:45 at Le Cellier. Maybe it's just me but a Steak in the afternoon would just be too much. If it was an evening reservation then I would definately pick Le Cellier. We always include Teppan Edo on our visits but we've been lucky enough to be able to get reservations at Le Cellier as well for the evening but do have to be very flexible on the day we choose. It's alway very difficult to get a reservation there. Good luck with your choice which ever you do choose I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.

we've been to both, and both are good, but for the kids I would say Teppon Edo. They are more family friendly, they have kids meals in special trays, and the chefs keep everybodies attention with how they prepare your food. I haven't been let down by the meals they offer both times we have been there, go for it.

We have never been to Le Cellier, but we did try to get in. Last Dec, since we couldn't get into Le Cellier we went to Teppan Edo and it was really good. The "show" was fun and they did pay a lot of attention to the kids. They made their chopsticks easy for them to use and since I didn't know how to use them they made mine easy too. The whole table got a kick out of that. And sitting at a table with people we have never met was a lot of fun. You should really try going there, I think you and your kids will have a great time.

Well, it was a hard choice but we went with Teppan Edo. No steak (no matter how good) is worth cranky children!:animwink: We really do like our rest/nap in the middle of the day so we had to let go of Le Cellier!:(

But on a brighter note the CM I had on the phone was hilarious!!! He had me laughing out loud at some of the stuff he was saying! When I told him to cancel Le Cellier he said, "This feels so wrong!" I responded, "Oh well, now someone else will get it and have a lovely meal!" He said, "You're like an organ donor!" And then he got all serious and said, "We here at Disney would like to thank you for being a "diner donor" today!" He cracked me up!:ROFLOL:

I got Teppan Edo for lunch hour on another day which works out much better!

Thanks for all your thoughts and advice!
