I can think of a couple reasons...
- The FL expansion is not all happening in parallel. We are looking at about 2 1/2 years for Mermaid and BatB. If the mine train had started at the same time it would all be done in 2 1/2 instead of 5.
- Having to work within and operating park is going to slow things down.
- Cost of Labor. Fantasyland could probably get done faster if they were willing to throw a lot more people at it. My guess is that labor costs are going to be a lot lower in shanghai so you can have a lot more people working on it at one time.

Yes yes and yes. I also imagine that pesky things like OSHA won't get in the way of the subcontractors in China. When the Chinese government wants something done, they get it done. Regardless of who gets hurt in the process. And since I heard they are getting 57% of the profits, I imagine they want it done.

No, I agree with you, 100%.
It was one of the best Disney movies ever made, and I have always wondered why they never thought about building a ride based on it.

As I said last week, if we start seeing exterior detail work by June 1st then my guess was the newest FLE pavilions could open this year. Obviously it is not June 1st. Not even close. So I am going with my long standing OCT !st 2011. The 40th anniversary.

I would love to see a Beauty and the Beast dark ride! I wish they would of added it to the FLE.

Interestingly they have built a larger space between the BatB and Mermaid pavilions than the original blueprints indicated allowing the area to expand in the long term. So anything is possible at this point.
