Upon returning to the World Map, Sora contemplates his distress on losing both Riku and Kairi, and now, even the King. Suddenly, Chip and Dale get a distress signal coming from Radiant Garden. The team heads over to Radiant Garden to see what’s up.

Radiant Garden (3rd Visit)
Part One

Sora, Donald and Goofy had not been to Radiant Garden in some time, and if there was a single day to avoid the town of Radiant Garden, this would be it.

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in the Marketplace of Radiant Garden, noting on the calm state of the town. The Synthesis Shop, the Sphere Hunters’ Shop, the Duckburg Items Shop and Scrooge McDuck’s Money Loft are all open for business in case you want to buy any items, synthesize items or put some munny in the bank. The team ascends up the

stone steps and arrive at the Electric Transit System Station, where the transit cart lies, waiting in its station. Judwig Von Drake, who is working on the technical station of the ETS, tells the team that just recently, the ETS had suffered from a malfunction, but now the transit system has been fixed and is running fine. Before the team can board the Electric Transit System, Ludwig stops them and says that Leon and the others had called for Sora and that they could be found inside the Town Plaza.

Sora, Donald and Goofy make their way over to the Town Plaza. Once there, outside, of Cid’s House, they find most of the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee waiting for them. Cid, Leon, Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie and Rinoa are all waiting outside for them. The three approach the group and ask them what all of the worry is about.

They say that the strict and unjust Radiant Garden governor, Rufus Shinra, and his right hand accomplice, Heidegger, have just kidnapped Red XIII, that mysterious lion-looking animal that they’ve met the last time they were here. They’ve taken him to the Radiant Garden Research Facility, where they don’t know what’s happened with Red XIII. That’s why they need Sora’s help to infiltrate the research center and rescue Red XIII before anything bad happens. They assign positions for everyone so that the mission will run smoothly.

Cid and Yuffie are working at disabling the Research Center’s security cameras, Aerith and Rinoa are keeping watch over Cid’s House, the Town Plaza and the Marketplace, making sure everything stays in order, Cloud and Leon are securing the route ahead, to make the flow of Heartless and Unknowns less frequent and Sora, Donald and Goofy are going on the front lines to infiltrate the Radiant Garden Research Facility Center. The team begins to make their way towards the research facility center.

Meanwhile, at the Radiant Garden Research Facility Center, Tifa is studying several research books in the Library. When she goes to pull out one of the books, the wall of books pushes in and moves, revealing a hidden passageway. Tifa descends down the passageway, where she discovers the Secret Laboratory. Inside one of the experimentation tubes, she sees Red XIII, who exclaims for her help. After asking what is happening, Red XIII explains that Rufus and Heidegger are using him to breed a new species of monsters, so powerful, that it’s said they can control the world. Tifa realizes that she must warn Sora and the others to stop Rufus at all costs. She hastily leaves the facility center and boards the ETS station outside of the facility center.

The team travels through the Garden Gateway, fighting Heartless and Unknowns along the way. They continue through the Garden Walkway, where the onslaught of more enemies continues. Rufus and Heidegger must’ve known that they might be expecting some unexpected visitors.

They arrive at the Entrance of the Radiant Garden Research Facility Center. Cid, Leon, Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie and Rinoa arrive at the entrance to the facility center. The doors of the center are shut tight. Of course, they can always break them open, but that’d cause a much unwanted ruckus. They’ll have to find another way in. Upon circling the building, they find a hidden shaft, which leads further into the building. Upon entering the shaft, they encounter an obstacle: an energy wall. Sora must use a combo of magic spells to disintegrate the energy field. Followed by the first obstacle, they run into another, a large gap in the floor. Sora must use a combo of his Quick Dash and High Jump abilities. Afterwards, the final obstacle is a padlocked door. Sora uses his Keyblade to open the door. The passage disposes them into the Library, from overhead.

The team and the Restoration Committee find the secret entrance, which was recently discovered by Tifa, and they descend down the steps, into the darkness of the Secret Laboratory. Once Sora, Donald, Goofy, Cid, Leon, Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie and Rinoa reach the room, they find Red XIII trapped within a tube. They try to find some way to release Red XIII, but suddenly, Heidegger appears behind them and ambushes them, demanding an explanation. They simply state that they’re rescuing a friend. Heidegger accepts, but he won’t let them get any further! He grabs one of the experimentation tools from the table. In the process, Cid and Yuffie run into a backroom to take refuge.

-Boss: Heidegger-

Heidegger attacks with his experimentation tools, heading straight towards the team. The good part about this fight is that you get to attack with four sidekicks, Cloud, Aerith, Leon and Rinoa, who all help out with defeating Heidegger. However, he often gets clumsy and trips over his own feet, offering the perfect timing for a set of combo attacks. After a while, the battle should be over.

The team takes joy in the defeat of Heidegger, but he’s relentless. In the heat of the moment, Heidegger reveals a gun and sets it off. He takes Aerith and Rinoa hostage and forces them into the backroom, threatening them. Leon and Cloud use this downtime to shatter the tube glass, releasing Red XIII and setting him free. From the backroom, a loud struggle is heard, culminating in a gunshot.

Tifa arrives at the Plaza Station, hoping to find the group at Cid’s House. When she arrives, she finds the house empty. She goes back to the Electric Transit System vehicle in search for Sora and the others again, waiting for the ETS to bring her to the next station stop.

Back in the Secret Laboratory, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Red XIII, Cloud and Leon wait, anxiously for the door to the backroom to open. The door opens and Aerith, Rinoa, Yuffie and Cid all emerge from the backroom. Thankfully, none of them were hurt in the process and they all rejoice that they’re mission is accomplished! They escape from the Secret Laboratory. The team then races back to the Radiant Garden Research Facility Center Entrance.

Rufus Shinra arrives into his Secret Laboratory, where he sees the smashed tube that formerly hed Red XIII. Then, in the backroom, he sees the body of his accomplice. This scene sends him into a rage. His experiment was stolen, his accomplice was killed and all hopes of ruling the worlds with the creation of his precious monsters has taken a turn for the worse. It sends Rufus flying into a rage.

Back at the entrance, Sora, Donald and Goofy escape the front doors with the Restoration Committee. Suddenly, before them Sora’s Unknown, Sarox, appears. Sora tells the rest of the Committee to head off, which they do so, leaving Sora, Donald and Goofy behind. Sarox approaches the group and says that he cannot let them interfere with any of the Unknowns’ plans. He unleashes a Keyblade of his very own and attacks the group!

-Boss: Sarox-

Sarox attacks with the exact same technique as Sora does. The player, themselves, knows Sora’s gameplay better than anyone, so this battle is really dependant upon the player’s knowledge of Sora’s movement. However, it’s still a safe choice to stay away from Sarox when he’s doing multiple combo moves with his Keyblade. With the help of Donald and Goofy, the battle will soon be over.

After the battle, Sarox will make a run for it and escape from Sora, Donald and Goofy. Enraged by the sudden retreat of their enemy, Sora, Donald and Goofy run after Sarox.

Seconds after the three leave, Tifa emerges from the Transit System at the Research Facility Center Station, just missing Sora and the others. There’s still no one here. She quickly re-boards the Transit System, before she has to wait for the next one, contemplating where Sora, Donald and Goofy are. She can’t let Rufus’ plans come to fruition.

As she re-boards the ETS, Rufus emerges from the Facility Center, heading straight for the ETS, opening the door to the control room, taking control of the vehicle, sending it moving at a dangerously accelerated speed, towards the Marketplace.

Meanwhile, Sora, Donald and Goofy are in hot pursuit of Sarox, who’s quickly moving about Radiant Garden. They follow Sarox through the Garden Walkway, the Garden Gateway and the Town Plaza, fighting Heartless and Unknown along the way. Now would be a prime time to save your game at Cid’s House. You can also explore Aerith’s Room, Yuffie’s Room, Leon’s Room and Cid’s Basement, to receive some new items from treasure chests, but quickly get back on the trail of following Sarox!

The team follows Sarox until they reach the Marketplace. When they arrive at the Marketplace, they realize that no one is in sight…except for Rufus, who’s in the middle of the Marketplace, with weapon in hand. He expresses his wrath that they’ve destroyed his plans to take over the worlds and now, it’s payback time!

-Boss: Rufus Shinra-

Rufus Shinra attacks with lances, which can stretch across the Marketplace easily, so keep your distance from the strict governor. After Rufus unleashes a chain combo of several attacks, it’s the prime time to move in and attack Rufus. After about half fof his HP is depleted, Rufus will starts a chain of relentless attacking, making it much harder to deal with successful attacks. Now, magic spells with come in handy to stun Rufus. Continue this tactic and soon, the battle will be over.

After the battle, Rufus remains in the Marketplace, catching his breath from the previous onslaught. Sora, Donald and Goofy don’t even want to bother with Rufus, they have better things to take care of. As they’re about to leave, the Restoration Committee arrives and says that they’ll handle with dealing with Rufus. Sora, Donald and Goofy continue to look and chase after Sarox.

As they move into the Town Plaza, they see Sarox exit. They continue to follow him in pursuit. You can continue to Cid’s House to save your game again. Afterwards, quickly make your way to the Garden Gateway. Sarox uses his power to blast a hole through the gateway, as he runs out into the Dark Valley, followed by the team. They follow closely behind Sarox, until he springs into an attack on the group.

-Boss: Sarox #2-

This battle remains much like the first battle, only Sarox is more relentless this time. He’ll attack quicker, swifter and his attacks will take more HP away. Just follow the tactics used in the first battle to be the conqueror of this battle.

After the battle, Sarox quickly catches his breath, but continues to run through the Garden Gateway. Being an Unknown must give him some extra strength powers. Overhead, they see an Electric Transit System vehicle heading towards the station. They quickly make a run for it to make it to the ETS on time.

Back in the Marketplace, Rufus is having a relentless onslaught against the Restoration Committee, as a crowd of people surrounds the struggle. Then, he notices the ETS in the station. He makes a run for the transit vehicle and enters, again, taking control of the vehicle, blasting it full speed ahead. Cid enters the control booth in order to disengage the controls of the ETS. The other Restoration Committee members direct the panic going through the Marketplace. From one of the passenger carts on the ETS, Tifa wonders what’s happening at the sudden acceleration of speed.

Sora, Donald and Goofy slightly fall as the Electric Transit System begins to move.

Rufus sends the vehicle flying full speed ahead, in order to get to the Radiant Garden Research Facility Center for refuge.

The Transit Cart rapidly circles around the town. Sarox comes out of hiding in the Marketplace, waiting for the craziness to die down. However, before he can make a move, Aerith and Rinoa corner him and ask who he is, due to his exact resemblance to Sora. This puts him in a foul mood and he’s not about to let them get in his way.

As the Transit Cart rapidly flies across its track, the overhead electric wires and the track begin to tremble and snap. The vehicle is moving at such an accelerated speed that nothing could be capable of stopping it now. Rufus shouts, as he loses control of the vehicle. The shaking becomes so violent, it causes the track to break, sending the electric wires dangling low, the huge vehicle, crashing off its track.

Aerith and Rinoa, whom rear back as Sarox it about to attack them, notice the vehicle rapidly crashing towards them, over Sarox’s shoulder. Speechless, they begin to shuffle back without saying a word to Sarox. Soon, enough they’re running out of sight. Confused, Sarox looks at the two women running out of sight. Just as he turns around, the vehicle comes crashing down…CRUNCH!

The vehicle flies through the Marketplace, destroying several buildings and shops in the process. As the vehicles crashes, it comes to a screeching halt, as the electric wires dangle low beside the vehicles. Tifa emerges from the crashed vehicle, clearly dazed and confused. She opens the metal door of the vehicle, as it unknowingly brushes up against the electric wires, sending jolts of electricity running through her body and through the vehicle. She falls to the ground.

Upon seeing the scene, Leon emerges from the Town Plaza, seeing the complete destruction of the Marketplace, the destroyed tracks of the Electric Transit System, Tifa’s body lying next to the crashed vehicle, Rufus’ body, through the window of the crashed vehicle, a lifeless hand sticking out from underneath a tattered building and finally, through the wreckage, a lifeless hand, faintly gripping onto a Keyblade.

... what the hell! You just killed off one of the Keyblade holders! I assume not Sora. I bet it was Riku, he's not good for anything but depression, but how did he get there...? And to add insult to injury, Tifa dies... AFTER the trolley crashes. Wow. That sucks. Did they really have to die? And I want to know how this affects the other words! So many questions!

This doesn't really affect the other worlds, but there is still reason to go out on world revisits, but I'm not saying anything. This will continue in a week or less. Read the cliffhanger over again, there's some hints dropped in that gives hints to who dies. Well, some of the people who died were bad guys, others were not and there's another death that I think everyone overlooked and it's completely shocking. The only person that we know is safe, is Leon.

So, after the cliffhanger event is complete, Sora, Donald and Goofy now go on a mission to rescue both Riku and Kairi, and find an entrance into the world of darkness.

I watched "The Princess and the Frog"(no ) and learned a few things. Those things are.

1. It's not slime, it's mucus.

2. 2D animation doesn't stand out as much as I thought it would in todays movies

3.Voodoo magic makes a great excuse for a character learning everything about another character without having even met the guy/girl

4. This Dr. Facilier was a really interesting villian

Just saying this wouldn't be that bad as a "Kingdom Hearts" world

P.S. Why didn't you just call "Royal City" Andalasia?

I originally had a Princess and the Frog world in the game, but I cut it out. KHIV wa originally supposed to have 16 worlds, just like KHIII, but I ended cutting out both the Princess and the Frog and the Sword in the Stone worlds, bringing KHIV to 14 worlds.

I didn't call the Enchanted world Andalasia because it doesn't take place in just Andalasia, but also New Yorck City. In fact, the majority of the world takes place in N.Y., so I had to settle on a name that would fit both Andalasia and New York, and that's when The Royal City came into play.

The next installment will come on Wednesday and it will be the aftermath of the cliffhanger and how it's affected peoples lives. Most of the cliffhangers will be revealed for the time being. If you have any questions regarding anything, just ask.

I have a suggestion. This thread has intrigued me, and I wish I had started reading when you had begun posting. But, I hadn't. And now that the thread is upwards of 16 pages, I don't think I ever will read it.

Would there be any way for you to create something of a "recap" thread, so those of us who are willing to follow the story can get caught up?

I would argue that "Port Royal" didn't always take place in the actual city of Port Royal and so did a bunch of other exceptions but, I actually liked that you did that. It's time that Square Enix got organized and started being a little more clever with the the names of the worlds.

Although, I don't really like to complain about that a lot. What I like to do with things that don't make sense to me is come with a reason for it. For example, for the whole "Port Royal" thing I like to say that it's the same reason Sora & Co. were able to go down the Rabbit Hole in "Wonderland". The space in which they travel only takes them to a single location in the world. You explore more of it by moving outside the location. Also, why "Neverland" is called "Neverland". I believed they were in Neverland's waters since it is actually a lone island in it's own little dimension built out of the imagination of children. And for why Big Ben was there I thought that it had something to do with Neverland since getting there seems to be dependent on time. After all, the directions are "second star to the right, and straight until morning".

Wow that was longer than I originaly wanted it to be.

Yes, I have thought about doing a recap. It won't be a completely new thread, but it'll pot all of the important info leading up to this point in the game. I'll most likely do it on Tuesday or Wednesday. I usually do a complete recap at the end of the game, featuring all of the story and characters from the game, which can be found in Jiminy Cricket's Journal.

Yes, in KH, there's alot of worlds that are named something, yet so much more is found within. Like Olympus Coliseum isn't just the coliseum, it's also the Underworld and in my games, Mount Olympus and Thebes, as well. Atlantica is not just the undersea kingdom, but also Prince Eric's castle. Halloween Town also includes Christmas Town. I'm usually very good at making names fit though.

For example, in KHIII, I had a Beauty and the Beast world which expanded outside of the Beast's Castle, to the forest and Belle's provincial town. Now, in KH2, the Beauty and the Beast world was called "Beast's Castle", but to make it more general for the entire land's sake, I had switced the name to Chateau de France.

I just try to make everything work thematically in the end.

I found myself wondering what worlds you guys would want to see return in KHV, so I decided to post a poll with 8 selections of what I think are the best of the returning worlds. I wanted to see what worlds you would like to see return. If any other worlds are in mind, please post them.

Worlds for KH5

I know I don't always give the best advice or ideas in the world, but here are the worlds that I would really like to see in this game:

1. Halloween Town- Well the main reason I want to see this world return is because I think something tremendous and stunning should happen here. It's a land from the creative mind of Tim Burton and I think that it deserves to have something pretty unexpected happen to it. I also think that this world being in the very first game and being one of the very best in that game it would be awesome to see it come back for one last bow.

2. Storybookland- As cheesy as this may sound I always thought it would be cool if the team traveled to a world that is inhabited by mother goose and Brothers Grimm characters, Disney and Square Enix-ified though. The three little pigs from the classic Disney Silly Symphony cartoon could lead the crew through the world and show them how the Heartless have messed with classic fairytales and stuff like that. It is then up to Sora, Donald, and Goofy to fix everything and find the source of all this madness. It sounds a bit lame but I think it could work. Or it could be like a 100 Acre Wood Land which is more of an optional world with lots of mini-games. Appearing fairytales could be ones such as Little Red Riding Hood and Peter and the Wolf. Donald could turn into the Ugly Duckling, Sora could turn into a dragon-slayer (If you go with a full-fledged world a heartless dragon could be the boss)/prince, and Goofy could turn into the Gingerbread Man or a giant chicken (Little Red Hen). Heck, even Sora could turn into the Gingerbread Man!

3. Sleepy Hollow- This would be a pretty small world but it would obviously be based off of the Bing Crosby-narrated Disney cartoon "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." Sora and the gang arrive just as Ichabod Crane comes strolling into town. It would be kind of small but it could work. It could probably even be merged with Storybookland if needed. Sora believes that there are no Heartless here and prepares to leave...But Donald and Goofy are perplexed by Katrina (I think the girl in Sleepy Hollow that everyone is in love with) and practically force a relunctant Sora to stay. Later that night they go to a Halloween Party out in the forest. All throughout the party Sora notices Heartless creatures lurking in the bushes and shadows outside of the house. He keeps trying to tell his companions but neither of them listen as they are too busy trying to get a dance with Katrina. Just then the lights go out and Bram Bones begins to spin a tale about the fabled "Headless Horseman." This is too much nonsense for Sora so he grabs his frightened companions by the necks and takes them outside to find that there is no way that they can see in the dark. It would take them all night just to track down the Gummi Ship. They then hear a scream in the forest and run to investigate the noise, believing it to be a heartless attack. It turns out to be Ichabod whom was chickening out of the ghost story with his horse. And he wasn't being attacked he was just face to face with a scary-looking tree. Being the coward he is he notices Sora's weapon and requests that Sora and his team escort him home. The gang agrees and begins walking when they are attacked by heartless! There is a fight where they must protect Ichabod for about halfway down the trail. Just when they see the tiny little skyline of Sleepy Hollow in the distance they begin to run, only to hear a noise come up from behind them: The Headless (Heartless) Horseman! Their is an epic chase/fight but there is no stopping this evil ghost. Eventually Ichabod and his horse disappear and Sora and the gang are cornered in a swamp-like canyon. The horseman and his horse jump in the murky moss-covered water and try to attack but are slowed down by all the muck. They then escape just at the right moment and fortunately find the Gummi Ship waiting in the graveyard near by. Just as the ship takes off a flaming Jack-o-Lantern is thrown at the ship, just missing it by inches.

4. The Seven Seas- Well since you've had attraction-based worlds before, why not do a world based on Sinbad's Storybook Voyage in Tokyo DisneySea? I mean I know it's not known that well in the states, but it is in Japan and would definitely be mysterious and exciting with players who are unfamiliar to the attraction. This is kind of a crazy idea but it might be able to work.

5. The Axiom- Big Disney Fan, Twilight_Roxas, and a few other people are already using this as a world in another game but I think it would make a great addition. No idea what the plot could be about but it would be awesome! And Sora, Donald, and Goofy could get transformed into robots!

There are too many great films to choose from!

But I don't know, those are just some of my own ideas to share. :)

I thought of another one, one that should be included in this game and that other game: Radiator Springs! Here, Sora and company would be turned into cars for the duration of the visit. The boss battles would be unusual. Instead of fighting in the traditional sense, you would have to race the cars around. Maybe either Lightning McQueen or Mater could join your party or something.

Well since you've had attraction-based worlds before...

You mean he's done an attraction-based world before? When???

I was about to suggest that. I also liked the storybook idea. Oh well, do you think we should have more attraction-based rides? I do (but then accepting this would possibly be a step foward to including Disney Channel worlds *shudders*)

P.S. Ohhhh!!! Now I remember it was Haunted Mansion. Forget what I said. :)

It makes me shudder to think of including a world themed to, say, High School Musical!
