Would you mind if I actually sent you a PM recap? I'll do so to anyone else who might want one, as well. I'll do one before the finale of the game too.

You left the game off at an excellent place! I can't wait until you start posting the next game!
Well, the game actually isn't over. That was just the midpoint of KHIV. We still have another, yet somewhat shorter, half of the game. The whole game should wrap up in the end of May and the KHV will start and end in the summer.

Well, here’s the recap for the first half of the game.

Kingdom Hearts IV takes place three years after the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts III, after the defeat of Master Xehanort, the main antagonist from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. At the end of the game, Sora and Kairi end up on Destiny Islands, alone. Riku had disappeared into darkness after the defeat of Xehanort. They vowed not to return to the island until Riku was with them. Unbeknownst to them, a sealed letter had just washed up along the shores of Destiny Islands.

Flash-forward three years into the future, Sora and Kairi are now twenty-somethings, still on Destiny Islands. One particular night, a meteor shower reigns down, over the islands, engulfing the two in a dark fog. When they re-emerge, they find that they are in Traverse Town, the first world Sora had visited six years ago.

Only now, Traverse Town had been completely abandoned after all of its residents returned to their original worlds. Then, the tutorial for the game begins. Afterwards, Sora and Kairi arrive at the former wizard, Merlin’s Mystical House, where they find King Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, Jiminy Cricket and Pluto. From one of the wizard’s bookshelves, Mickey reveals a book and tells them about the entire adventure that will await them.
The King tells them all about the enemies they will face, alongside the Heartless: the Unknowns. An Unknown is a creature which lacks a heart, yet still has a soul and a conscience. Their conscience gives them fierce instincts, even though it seems they lack any brain power.

King Mickey continues to explain by saying that this new species was all created by Maleficent three years ago, at the destruction of Radiant Garden. When Merlin risked his life to save Sora, Maleficent obtained the power of Merlin’s conscience, used her dark powers and resulted in the creation of these new enemies. However, these creatures turned against Maleficent and a new leader commanded their onslaught, along with a group of followers. Ever since then, Maleficent had gone into hiding, her whereabouts, unknown.

Now, the task for Sora, Donald and Goofy is to travel through the worlds, preventing any damage done to Kingdom Hearts, which is safely stored in the bowels of Disney Castle for the time being. They must protect and seal the keyhole of each new world they will encounter on this visit. They must also defeat the Heartless, the Unknown and their leader, and restore peace to all the worlds again. Jiminy Cricket travels alongside them, to chronicle their journey. King Mickey, Kairi and Pluto stay at Merlin’s House, where they continue their research about these strange and unsettling creatures. Sora, Donald and Goofy are excited to begin their next adventure and head towards the Gummi Ship!
They then return to Radiant Garden, which had been restored after its destruction three years ago. The Marketplace is hopping with several new shops. There’s even a new transit system, called the Electric Transit System, which, although frequent with breakdowns, is a great way to travel across the world. They reunite with the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, which includes Cid, Leon, Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie, Rinoa, Yuna, Rikku and Paine.

The town has slowly been falling under a strict governmental reign. Self-appointed governor, Rufus Shinra and his head assistant, Heidegger, have risen to power and are governing over Radiant Garden. During the reconstruction, they were supportive of the townspeople, but afterwards, they turned against them and used the townspeople for their own success. They reside in the new Radiant Garden Research Facility Center, which is located where Ansem’s Castle formerly stood.

On their way to the Facility Center, they meet a mysterious being, called Red XIII, who had been brought to Radiant Garden for unknown reasons. He also later joins the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee. Later, they meet Tifa working at the Research Center, as an apprentice to Rufus Shinra.

Then, their adventure throughout the Gummi Ship routes takes them through several different world, both familiar and new, sealing several keyholes along the way.

· Alpine Village (Pinocchio)
· Notre Dame (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) (Keyhole Sealed)
· 100 Acre Wood (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh)
· Wonderland (Alice in Wonderland) (Keyhole Sealed)
· Olympus Coliseum (Hercules)
· Mysterious Tower (Keyhole Sealed)
· The Land of Symphony (Fantasia/Fantasia 2000) (Keyhole Sealed)
· Monstropolis (Monsters Inc.) (Keyhole Sealed)
· Dark Rainforest (The Jungle Book)
· Port Royal (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End) (Keyhole Sealed)
· The Royal City (Enchanted) (Keyhole Sealed)

Sora, Donald and Goofy find themselves returning to Traverse Town. Once there, they find that the town is still deserted as ever. They explore the town, seemingly only encountering Heartless and Unknown.

They arrive at Merlin’s House, where they reunited with Kairi, King Mickey, Queen Minnie, Daisy and Pluto. They inform them all of the Unknown and what they’re plans are. King Mickey says to Sora, Donald and Goofy that the Unknown must be stopped at all costs. Sora goes out to investigate further, with Kairi.

As Sora and Kairi are finally alone together, they are about to express their feelings, but a large tremble shakes the town and a mysterious man appears, followed by four others. A large dark orb sends whirling, rough winds throughout the town, causing buildings to tear, the ground, ripping, the entire world becoming morphed and destroyed. Donald and Goofy come in just in time to rescue Sora from the overflow of darkness. Just as they’re about to escape, Kairi hands Sora her good luck charm. The Gummi Ship blasts off, leaving the fate of Traverse Town unknown.

The Unknown have accomplished their goal of acquiring Traverse Town as their new home base. The Unknown consist of the altered selves of several people who have turned into Heartless. Sarox (Sora), Raixik (Kairi), Leax (Axel), Xisa (Saix), and their currently unknown leader.
Sora, Donald and Goofy later arrived in Radiant Garden, where the Restoration Committee informed them all of how Rufus Shinra and his henchman, Heidegger, kidnapped Red XIII and was using him for their own purposes. Without a second thought, they decided to save him. Meanwhile, at the Research Facility Center, Tifa discovered that Rufus and Heidegger was using Red XIII to produce a new breed of monsters that could take over the world. She quickly left to find Sora and the others.

Sora, Donald and Goofy and the Restoration Committee successfully infiltrated the Facility Center and found Red XIII’s whereabouts. However, Heidegger blocked their path. After a brief struggle, Heidegger had been killed and Red XIII was set free, leaving them to escape the building. Rufus arrived on the scene and seeing his missing experiment and hisdead henchman threw him into a rage.

Upon leaving the Facility Center, the team encountered Sarox, Sora’s Unknown. After a battle, Sarox retreated, sending Sora and the others after him. In the meanwhile, Tifa boarded the ETS, as Rufus hijacked the cart control system. Rufus beat them to the Marketplace, where they made quick work of him, before following Sarox in hot pursuit.

Rufus continued to chase after the team, by boarding the ETS. Simultaneously, Sarox arrived into the Marketplace, approached by Aerith and Rinoa. The transit cart was moving so fast, that it was sent spiraling off its tracks, into the Marketplace, destroying everything. In the wakening of this devastating incident, Rufus Shinra, Tifa, Sarox and Cid had all been killed.

The following day, the majority of the Marketplace had been cleared out, leaving them the space to rebuild. The entire town hung with sadness, but it also meant new hope for the future of Radiant Garden, which is now a ruler-less land. The people of Radiant Garden are now free from dictatorship and it can only mean a brighter future for all of the residents and the world of Radiant Garden.

Upon returning to the World Map, Sora, Donald and Goofy decide to search throughout the worlds for any sign of Riku, Kairi and King Mickey. They return to the first available world.

Alpine Village (2nd Visit)

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in the familiar Village Square, surprised to see that there are no Heartless or Unknown in sight. The entire ground is covered in snow. The village is actually quite nice without having to worry about any danger getting in the way, but they can’t be sure that the world is safe just yet. Jiminy Cricket insists that they should stop in to see how Pinocchio and Geppetto are doing. They head over to one of the village houses and enter Geppetto’s House.

When entering the cottage, Geppetto and Pinocchio are so excited to see Sora, Donald and Goofy return. Figaro, their cat, runs downs the stairs to meet them, as Cleo swims happily in her fishbowl.

Geppetto states that the town has been much calmer ever since that big bully Stromboli left the village. Thins couldn’t be better for the two of them right now. It just so happens that Pinocchio is heading off to school soon and Sora, Donald and Goofy would like to assist him to the schoolhouse. Before heading out into the village, you can use the save point in the corner of Geppetto’s cottage.

The team makes their way out of the village, along with Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket. They arrive on the Stone Bridge, a suspended bridge, above a large river, located right outside of the village.

As they walk along the bridge, two familiar, mysterious figures approach the team. They are Honest John and his assistant, Gideon. The team draws their weapons, remembering that they’re the ones who led Pinocchio astray last time. However, Honest John claims that they’re not here for any tricky business. He states that beyond the outskirts of town, there is a land of enchantment and merriment, known as Pleasure Island. Just the description of the place seems to make Sora, Donald and Goofy want to kick it into high-gear and get to the theme park already. Honest John and Gideon decide to guide the trio and Pinocchio to Pleasure Island. Jiminy Cricket is left behind, his voiced statements, being left disregarded.

Honest John and Gideon lead the group past the Village Outskirts and the Grassy Plain, arriving at the night lit Wharf. At the end of a large dock, lies the huge doors, leading to Pleasure Island. To the right of the dock is a path, which leads down to the Rocky Coast. However, the area is not accessible at the moment.Honest John and Gideon leave the group here, allowing them to explore for themselves. Before continuing down to the dock, use the save point at the start of the dock. Now, make your way towards the large doors, as the gentle waves crash beneath the dock.

As you arrive at the large doors, they open, revealing the whimsical world inside. Sora, Donald, Goofy and Pinocchio see all the sights and sounds of Pleasure Island, a large roller coaster, flying past the area, a large ferris wheel, several games, a magical array of several other attractions and entertainment, all enticing the group to explore. Just then, a large firework spectacle explodes in the sky, the entire area, filled with wonder and delight. In the ticket booth, the Coachman is selling tickets for the attractions. He gives the group complimentary tickets for the attractions.

Once inside, a series of several mini-games can take place.

Pleasure Island Roller Coaster

In this minigame, the group is on a rollercoaster, which divides into several different tracks, leading to several different areas of the amusement park. Using the directional commands, the gamer is allowed to select which track course they want to take. Along the way, Sora must use the keyblade to light up certain parts of the track, illuminating the roller coaster.

The Ferris Wheel

On the ferris wheel, Sora, Donald and Goofy use a set of reaction commands to get the ferris wheel to spin.

Hand Toss

In this minigame, Sora must knock over a set of 5 pins to win the game. Ife he successfully does so, he is awarded with munny.

Fireworks Display

In this final minigame, Sora, Donald and Goofy are responsible for setting off the nighlty fireworks display. The minigame is successfully performed by pressing a series of reaction commands, setting off the correct corresponding firework.

After they’ve enjoyed themselves, they enter the Game Room, where a large pool table lies. Jiminy Cricket arrives in the theme park and overhears the Coachmen and his plans. He hears that Pleasure Island has a curse upon it, in which anyone who visits the island, is turned into a donkey. Back inside the room, as they are in a game of pool, Pinocchio notices that he starts to grow donkey ears. Donald laughs in amusement, until he realizes that he’s growing a tail himself! Sora, Donald, Goofy and Pinocchio all starts turning into donkeys, boasting ears and tails. They have to quickly escape Pleasure Island before the curse gets the best of them.

After leaving, the Coachman waits, drawing closer to capturing the trio and sending them into large wooden crates. Sora unleashes his Keyblade and attacks the Coachman.

-Boss: The Coachman-

The Coachman attacks with a heavy whip, dealing a combo of stringed-together attacks. He can also use his whip to wrap around a character, before reeling them in, to do a series of more critical hits.

However, with Sora’ Keyblade and magic at this stage in the game, the Coachman shouldn’t be all that hard. Just continue doing a series of critical hits and you’ll come through just fine.

After the battle, Sora flings the Coachman into one of the wooden crates, as it closes itself. The team makes their way through Pleasure Island, noticing the destroyed amusement park. Suddenly, the Heartless and Unknown appear, riding and enjoying the attractions, themselves, before springing towards the group and igniting a battle.

After the battle against the creatures, they leave and cross the Wharf again. They arrive in the Village, at night, where they enter Geppetto’s House. Inside, they find Cleo and Figaro, but Geppetto is missing. On the window ledge is a letter addressed from the Blue Fairy, stating that Geppetto has gone to rescue Pinocchio from Pleasure Island. They decide to head back to the area, in hopes of finding Geppetto. You can use the save point again, if you so wish.

Upon returning to the Village Square, the area is again, overrun by Heartless and Unknown. Quickly fight your way through the creatures, before proceeding across the Stone Bridge and the Village Outskirts. Next, cross the Grassy Plain. They arrive at the Wharf again, now, the path to the Rocky Coast is now accessible. Definitely save your game at the Wharf save point before proceeding.

As you proceed down the Rocky Coast, the violent crashing of waves shakes the shore, as the team and Pinocchio, hastily search the area for any sight of Geppetto. Out of the corner of Sora’s eye, he spots Geppetto, lying along a block of wood, just along the ocean coast. They go to his rescue. After rescuing him, he lies on the rocky coast, so happy that he and Pinocchio are together. They start to make their way back up the rocks.

Suddenly, a noise comes from behind them. Nothing. Just the sea. Then, a huge splash, as a giant whale emerges from the depths of the sea. Monstro!

-Boss: Monstro-

This entire battle relies on you and your magic skills. Actually, a lot of the time Monstro will due damage to himself, by crashing up against the rocky shoreline. However, Thunder-based magic works wonder in this battle. Since he swims in water, the thunder spell will only multiply the damage done to Monstro.

The whale will never be able to leave the ocean waters, but that doesn’t prevent him from snapping his monstrous jaws (which is funny because inside, you can see the setting from KHI, but we don’t want to escape from there again!) After a little while longer of attacking and spell-casting, the battle should be over.

Sora, Donald and Goofy quickly rush up the rocks, followed closely behind by Pinocchio and Geppetto. Pinocchio manages to get Geppetto safely on the ledge of the cliff, just as Monstro rams into it, killing Pinocchio. Geppetto takes the limp puppet home, followed by Sora, Donald and Goofy.

At the house, Geppetto lays Pinocchio on his bed and mourns the loss. Suddenly, the window blows open and a shimmering blue orb appears. The silhouette of the Blue Fairy appears on the wall. As she waves her wand, Pinocchio’s wooden skin begins to soften and fade into real skin. Sora notices that his donkey appearance is disappearing, as well. Before their own eyes, Pinocchio is transformed into a real boy. He awakens, as Geppetto thankfully hugs him, promising him that they’ll never be separated ever again. Jiminy Cricket smiles over the scene, as the Blue Fairy disappears out the window. Sora cheerfully hugs Pinocchio before saying goodbye.

Sora obtains the Conscience Key.

As they are leaving the snow-covered village, the blue orb once again descends upon them, as the Blue Fairy returns in full form. She is so thankful to them for helping Pinocchio and Geppetto out, that now it’s her turn. With the wave of her wand, the snow on the ground dissolves, revealing the Keyhole. Sora raises his Keyblade, as a spark emits from it and he seals it. The Blue Fairy insists that whenever they need guidance, she will illuminate their path.

Sora obtains the Blue Fairy Summon.

ALPINE VILLAGE

Jiminy’s Journal- Alpine Village (2nd Visit)

Upon returning to the village, they reunite with Geppetto and Pinocchio, who was on his way to school. While Sora, Donald, Goofy and I assisted Pinocchio along the way, we ran into those two good-for-nothing scoundrels, Honest John and Gideon! They persuaded the team, even Pinocchio to come with them to the wonderful land of merriment, Pleasure Island, even though I warned them not to go!

I had followed behind them, hoping to get there in time, but I was too late. As I got there, the amusement park was in shambles! Pleasure Island has a curse in which anyone who enters and enjoys themselves, is turned into a donkey and then captured by the wicked Coachman. Sora and the others were already halfway there! They escaped, but not after a dispute with the Coachman, who ended up being locked in his own crate.

When returning to the house, we received a letter from the Blue Fairy stating that Geppeto had gone after Pinocchio. We went to the rocky ocean shore, where we found Geppetto, thankfully, unharmed. But then, Monstro appeared, and ended up hurting Pinocchio. Backat the house, the Blue Fairy appeared and with the wave of her and, transformed Pinocchio into a real boy and turned everyone back into their original states. She then revealed the keyhole to Sora and he sealed it.

Pinocchio and Geppetto promised to never ever leave each other ever again. Now, Pinocchio has a conscience of his own and my work here is done, the golden badge the Blue Fairy gave me proves that true!

Well, i feel like there's some things that can be overlooked (mainly cuz that probably didn't want to create skeletal version of Sora, Donald and Goofy, anyway) but the universe of Kingdom Hearts is tricky. They say they cannot be affected because they are from different worlds, yet, here they are, walking around as sea creatures, animals, toonish characters, donkeys, so obviously, they will be affected in some ways.

Any other second visits in mind there? This one was absolutely fantastic for this world! Great world to begin with now and even greater world!

Any other second visits to Alpine Village? No, that was the wrap-up for that world. However, the rest of the worlds in the game will get a re-visit, with the exception of Mysterious Tower and The Land of Symphony. And thank you for your comments, it's always nice to receive feedback!

This is great! I love the use of Monstro and the mini-game carnival. Great job, and I can't wait for the next re-visit!
Thanks so much. As for the mini-game carnival, by the end of the game, Pleasure Island will be repaired, so you can return there and particpate in the mini-games again (without the curse this time!).

Upon returning to the World Map, they arrive at their next destination, continuing their adventure.

Notre Dame (2nd Visit)

Frollo, the Minister of Justice for all of Notre Dame, is seen staring into a blazing fireplace, as he schemes to take vengeance on those who have betrayed him. A swarm of Heartless appears behind him.

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in the Topsy Turvy Courtyard, where they notice that the town is not half as lively as it was the last time they were here. It must be because the celebration is not happening. As they proceed further into the courtyard, a swarm of Heartless scatter throughout the area, as if they were searching for something. The team quickly approaches the Heartless and a fight begins.

After the team has vanquished all of the Heartless, they make their way over to the cathedral, to check on Quasimodo and everybody else. They arrive on the Steps of the Cathedral. Above, the stone gargoyles stare down at them. Then, as if on cue, the gargoyles spring to life, forcing the team into another battle. It seems as though someone was expecting them.

After the team has disposed of all of the Heartless-turned Gargoyles, the team pushes open the big cathedral doors and enters the Cathedral. Inside, the once gloriously-lit cathedral has darkened and the only sound that can be heard is the loud echoing of footprints beneath their feet. Quasimodo descends from the rafters of the tall cathedral and approaches the group. He states that ever since Esmeralda had escaped from the cathedral, Frollo had sent a swarm of Heartless to track her down and capture her. So far, they have been unsuccessful. Sora, Donald and Goofy decide that they are going to find Esmeralda, in order to keep her away from any danger.

Upon exiting the cathedral, Phoebus approaches the group and asks them if they know anything about the whereabouts of Esmeralda. They state that they are on their way to try and find her now. Phoebus joins the team in helps of finding Esmeralda. It’s just then that Sora remembers what Esmeralda gave him. From his pocket, he reveals a necklace, with a map of Paris on it. There are several designated points on it. Phoebus recognizes what it is.

It is a map that will lead them to the gypsies’ secret Court of Miracles. This must be where Esmeralda is hiding. They quickly follow the map’s direction. They proceed down the Steps of the Cathedral and into the Topsy Turvey Courtyard. Soon, after some searching, they find that a new path has opened behind one of the houses, the path that leads to the Bridge.

As they make their way across the bridge, suddenly a fleet of Heartless appears, and a fight begins. During the midst of the fight, Phoebus is knocked off the side of the bridge and into the river, below, where he is critically injured. After rescuing the injured soldier, they decide that they cannot continue with him in this condition, so they decide to return Phoebus to the Cathedral, for protection.

In Quasimodo’s Loft, they rest Phoebus down, for him to rest and recover. In the corner of the room are three friendly-looking gargoyles, which Sora thought were in a different location the last time they were here. Frollo must never know that they were all here. You can use the save point in the corner of the loft before continuing.

As they head for the door, they hear footprints approaching the room. Frollo! Sora, Donald, Goofy and Phoebus quickly run behind a clothed section of the room, just in time to avoid Frollo’s entrance. Frollo approaches Quasimodo and asks him where Esmeralda is, knowing full well that he had helped Esmeralda escape, along with those other three. Quasimodo denies all of it. Frollo bluffs, saying that he already knows where the Court of Miracles is, and that he will attack. He soon leaves and the team and Phoebus emerge. Phoebus asks the team and Quasimodo to find the Court of Miracles before Frollo does. And so, they’re off on an adventure to find the secret Court.

They arrive on the Stone Balcony, just off of the loft, and they slowly make their descent down into the Topsy Turvey Courtyard, where another sporadic group of Heartless attacks. After the fight, the characters return to the bridge, where Phoebus was knocked off. They see that the water underneath the bridge appears to run into a dark tunnel. After looking at the necklace, Sora realizes that all of the designation points align, showing that they are headed in the right direction. The team jumps into the river to get a closer examination and they enter the Tunnel.

Inside the dark and gloomy tunnel, they see a swarm of Heartless attack them and an overly long battle against the Heartless invading the cave occurs. After the fight, they continue into the central cavernous chamber of the Court of Miracles. Once inside, they find Clpon, Esmeralda and her pet goat, Djali, along with several other gypsies. They are so happy to see them. There’s another save point in the cavern. It’d be wise to go there and save your game. In the corner of the room, there is a treasure chest, containing a Torn Page.

Soon after their arrival, Frollo appears at the entrance, with a swarm of Heartless. The army of Heartless lunge at the group and before any of them can even attack. They are surrounded. They have no choice but to give in. Frollo, along with his army of Heartless, take the trio, Quasimodo and Esmeralda to the Topsy Turvey Courtyard, where a stake, surrounded by hay, has been set up. Frollo reveals that Esmeralda will be burned at the stake.

Before they can do anything about their situation, Quasimodo, Sora, Donald, and Goofy are brought to the Stone Balcony, where they are chained to the large stone pillars, now, along with Phoebus. Quasimodo has nearly given up on fixing everything, but then he sees Esmeralda in pain, as the fire starts to burn across the hay. His anger empowers him, causing him to unleash his strength, breaking the pillar. Inadvertently, the pillar crashes into Sora’s pillar, causing him to be set free, as well. Sora breaks the chains surrounding Donald, Goofy and Phoebus, who has made a hasty recover.

Just as they are all free, a giant Unknown appears. Sora tells Quasimodo to rescue Esmeralda and they’ll handle the monster. With the Quasimodo leaps off the edge of the building and a boss fight begins. Phoebus rejoins the party.

-Boss: ENVY-

This large, green Unknown monster has large ghost-like claws and has an eye for specific attacks that are reminiscent to those of a laser beam. The monster’s laser beam attack emerges from within its eyes and can temporarily stun a party member. The best way to defeat this monster is to string together combo attacks, eliminating the possibility for the Unknown monster to attack.

After the battle, ENVY falls back, and crashes into one of the Notre Dame bells, which crashes and falls on it, crushing the monster.

Sora obtains the Absorba Spell.
